2. The Next Hundred Million Percentage of childless women will continue to rise. China has a one-child policy. Korea has fastest drop in fertility in world history. America’s cultural uniqueness towards work, child rearing, and moral and religious values will be evident. Commitment to family is connected to religious and spiritual orientation. American higher tendency towards spiritual and religious beliefs. Religious beliefs in America are varied, expanding liberal and conservative groups.
3. The Next Hundred Million The U.S. will not have a clear “majority” race. Minorities and immigrants will move to the suburbs. Immigrants will realize that America is uniquely able to reinvent itself and re-energize itself. America has a deep-seated spirit of ingenuity and most productive expanse of land. A resourceful stream of assimilating immigrants. Society draws power from grassroots, communities, churches, entrepreneurs, and families. A reserve power that allows it to overcome both the inadequacies of its leaders and foibles of its citizens.
4. The Next Hundred Million The U.S. will remain a nation of great cities. Superstar cities will be at the top of urban economic food chain. Urban cities will compete with major cities for finance, culture, and media industries. Major cities, suburbs, and exurbs become crowded and expensive, more people to move to the heartland. The Heartland will play a pivotal role in the century’s most important environmental and economic challenge: renewable fuel.
5. The Second World Common European House is growing into a multi-tiered commonwealth of members. Europe today is prosperous and powerful as any single super state. Two tragedies in life: to lose your heart’s desire and the other is to gain it. Europe could lose their strategic appetite just to experience great success. The west Eurasia zone would feature four powers: London, Brussels, Ankara, and Moscow. All four powers, plus the U.S., face greater challenges in the region east of Europe’s East: Central Asia.
6. For over a decade America sought to avoid losing ground in Latin America, by element of the Monroe document. America would prevent any foreign power from influencing Latin America. Three nations that emerged within the region for relating to the United States: Venezuela’s rejection of American regional dominance; Columbia’s friend relationship built on common economic and security interests; Brazil’s pragmatic and selective cooperation with America. 7. The Second World Western view of Arab world as backwards or feeble. Invasion of Iraq was necessary because of repressive Arab regimes and Islamic fundamentalists only understand force. West’s inability to deal productively with the allegedly simplistic Arab culture. West frets over Arab disorder. A combination of oil wealth, mass media, grievance, and awareness of the arbitrary Western-imposed borders are transforming the Arab political landscape. Arabs suspicious of American foreign policy and contests the legitimacy of unelected rulers. The United States and the EU may decide to cut their losses and attempt to contain the region and allow and Arab-Islamist civil war to sap its virulent energies.
