The duties of Roustabout are:
• To perform hands on training of general rig maintenance, repair, installation and removal of all
crane, rigging/slinging, tagging loads, working overhead, assisting crew, lifting loads, deck
maintenance equipment, deck maintenance about the installation to include cleaning, painting,
and housekeeping.
• To help move drilling rigs and equipment from site to site, set up in the new site and connect
power cables or hoses for water and air supply .
• To mix and test drilling fluids, chemicals and grout.
• To clean up spilled oil by bailing it into barrels.

3. • To unscrew or tighten pipes, casing, tubing, and pump rods, using hand and power wrenches and
tongs.
• To bolt together pump and engine parts.
• To walk flow lines to locate leaks, using electronic detectors and making visual inspections.
• To move pipes to and from trucks, using truck winches and motorized lifts, or by hand.
• To supply equipment to rig floors as requested, and provide assistance to roughnecks.
May also need to help the floormans on the rig floor if they are too busy to get a break.

The duties of floorman are:
• Operation on various pipes handling equipment while making pipe connections, tripping, testing,
etc.
• During periods when the drill string is on bottom drilling, assists in preparing additional drill
pipe, collars, or special tools to be run into the hole.
• Also at this time, rig floor equipment is examined and serviced. Tools, equipment and supplies
are obtained and made ready for the next phase of the operation.
• Prior to completing the well, the drilling crew is responsible for retrieving the drill steam and
BOP equipment such that the well can be plugged and abandoned or completed.
• All equipment is to be returned to its proper storage location and made ready for us again or
replaced if damaged.

The duties of derrickman are:
o Understand the requirements of the Company Management System (to include policies,
procedures, and expectations) and perform duties in accordance with them.
o Propose recommendations for improvements to the Company Management System or
practices.
o Understand that everyone has the responsibility, authority, and obligation to interrupt an
operation if a condition or behavior is observed which could cause harm to people, assets
or the environment and act on this understanding as required. (Stop work authority)
o Identify hazards in the workplace and implement sufficient controls to prevent incidents.
o Participate in pre-tour meetings and participate in and/or lead pre-task meetings.
o Work under the direction of the Driller and/or Rig Manager.
o Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions, pumps and drilling mud
systems, and mix mud chemicals, cements and additives
 Read gauges to monitor pressure, density, rate and concentration and adjust
pumping procedure as required.
 Calculate the dense and volumes of oil and mud
 Recording mud density and volumes.
 Work on the monkey board during tripping operations as directed by the Driller.
o Monitor, maintain and report the properties of the drilling fluid.
o Monitor and report the drilling fluid additive inventory.

5. o Monitor, inspect, maintain, repair and report condition and functionality of the mud
pumping, storing, processing and transferring equipment on the drilling location.
(Including maintaining inventory of spare parts)
o Assist with routine maintenance on rig equipment as per Company Maintenance System.
o Maintain good housekeeping on the drilling location to include rig components, offices
and accommodations.
o Report incidents, equipment failures, system failures and abnormalities as per Company
procedures.
o Train and mentor Motormen and Floorman who are interested in a Derrickman position.
