New Year's Eve is celebrated globally on December 31st as the final day of the Gregorian calendar year. Traditions of celebrating with fireworks, wearing specific colors of underwear, and burning effigies at midnight began in various cultures. In Ecuador, popular New Year's Eve traditions include eating 12 grapes at midnight for good luck in each month, running around with a suitcase for travel wishes in the new year, and writing request lists before celebrating with food, drink, and fireworks until late in the night.

4. Then each person says the next “Happy New Year”. After people celebrate New Year’s Eve, they eat roast turkey, stuffed turkey, wine or champagne. Young people are used to going to parties, discos, and/or walking by the beach.
