2. Introduction
The Library Company of Philadelphia is a research
library centered on American history between the 17th
and 19th centuries. Autumn Graves serves as a board
member for the Library Company. Although some
supporters like Autumn Graves choose to contribute in
hands-on, administrative ways, plenty of options exist
to support the library in other ways. For example,
contributors can attend the library’s events and
support its programs.
3. About the New Women’s History
Program
Scheduled for April 9, 2014, the library's new Program in
Women's History raises awareness of the female impact on
American culture throughout history. The program profiles
women who worked as artists, actors, writers, and more. A
reception starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program
launch at 6:00 p.m.
The event features Susan Shifrin, an art historian who
created an exhibition titled “Picturing Women” in 2004.
Book artist Tamar Stone will also display one of her pieces
for the event. An anonymous donor funded this new
program. Learn more about this event at
