● A Computer Based Examination (CBE) is a test or
assessment that is conducted by using a computer, typically
in a controlled environment like a testing centre or a
classroom.

3.Environment Friendly
4.Digital Literacy Development
5.Requires Less Manpower
6.Enhanced Security
15. DISADVANTAGES OF A CBE
1.Technical Issues
2.Digital Divide
3.Infrastructure Requirement
4.Cost of Implementation
5.Disruption to Traditional Practices
6.Standardization Challenges
16. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONLINE EXAMINATION AND
COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATION
ONLINE EXAM COMPUTER BASED EXAM
1.It can be access remotely via
internet from various location.
2.It can be administered remotely
through specialized software and
platform via internet.
1.It takes place in a controlled
environment where participant
use computer provided on-site.
2.It involve physical supervision
and proctoring within the testing
centre.
17. 3. It has a more rigid scheduled
and a location is required due to the
need for physical testing centers.
4. Computer based exam requires
infrastructure such as testing
centers equipped with computer ,
network connectivity and power
supply.
5. Computer based exam benefits
from physical supervision and
proctoring.
ONLINE EXAM COMPUTER BASED EXAM
3. It is more flexible in terms of
scheduling and location ,allowing
participant to take exam at their
convenience from anywhere.
4. Less infrastructure is required as it
rely heavily on internet connectivity
which include special electronic
devices.
5. Online exams may face additional
challenges in ensuring the integrity of
the exam environment remotely.
