                           By Laurie Moore

Wait. What?
I think she means we’re supposed to
come up with our own sport. Lazy.
Players: 2
Space: one room in a house
Special materials: creativity, comfortable clothing
Rules: you will make them

Sigh. She makes
us do all the work.
Step 1
Player 1 selects one letter from the alphabet. Player 2 will have 30
seconds to find a household object that begins with the same letter.

 The letter T!

                                                     I found something!
Step 2
Player 1 will have 30 seconds to find a second household object that
begins with the last letter of the first object found by Player 2.

                                                    Towel. The letter L!

 I found something!

                                                    What the heck is that?

 It’s a ladle. You
 know. For soup.
Step 3
Player 2 will have 30 seconds come up with a sport or game that is
played using the two objects found.

Hm. Oh, I’ve got it! You have to use the
ladle to throw the towel under your leg,
and then you have to catch it.
Step 4
Player 1 will add a rule or restriction to the game, and Player 2 must
perform the same game incorporating the rule or restriction.

 Now play the game while
 singing “The Star Spangled
 Banner”
O say can you see by the
                                                   dawn's early light….
Step 5
Now it’s Player 2’s turn to add a rule or restriction to the game, and
Player 1 must perform the same game with the rule or restriction.

                                                   Now play the game with
                                                   your eyes closed too!

  O say can you see…
  I can’t see anything!
Step 6
Players will go back and forth, inventing a new rule or restriction for
the sport, until one player forgets a rule, or can’t complete the sport.

                                                   O say can you see…Ah!
                                                   I dropped the towel!

 I win. Let’s play again!
