 Netiquette – the rules of etiquette that apply when communicating over 
computer networks, especially on the internet. 
 It is the informal code of behaviour on the internet. Of all the activities. 
Email is the most popular on internet.

 Avoid the Use urgent/ important too much 
 No Poorly written subject lines 
 Long and lengthy talk 
 Repetition of previous email / communication 
 Grammar mistakes 
 Long sentences 
 Attaching unnecessary files 
 Extremely long signatures 
 Avoid leaving out the message thread

 To Interested parties 
 To colleagues to keep them in loop 
 To only the person you expect a reply from 
 CC: to boss in case he needs to know 
 Only those who need to know 
 BCC: in case of chain mails and forwards 
 BCC: to concerned parties 
 Responding to email 
 Respond immediately if possible, 
 Industry standards are 24 hours utmost 48 hours 
 Don’t delay writing emails

Before you send… 
 Read the mail before you click the send button 
 Run a grammatical and spell check 
 Ensure the addressed to the right person and is named correctly 
 Take care of abbreviations and emotions 
 Don’t reply to all without checking the mail 
 Don’t request delivery and read receipt unless necessary 
Ideal size of the email – good email would have, 1st paragraph, body and 
conclusion, email to colleague – 1 paragraph.
