Netherwood was a guest house in Hastings that operated from the 1950s to 1968. It had many bedrooms, a large garden, a pavilion with a piano and bar for entertainment, and served meals through a hatch. The author recalls visiting Netherwood as a child and having to spend part of one holiday separated from the other guests due to illness. The guest house was eventually torn down and replaced with a housing estate named Netherwood Close.
