Raggedy Ann was created by illustrator Johnny Gruelle, who lived in Tacoma Street in Indianapolis. Wonderland Park was an amusement park located at Washington and Gray Streets from 1906 to 1911, when it burned down. Woodruff Place was the east side neighborhood described in Booth Tarkington's book The Magnificent Ambersons. Steve McQueen lived in the Little Flower neighborhood as a baby. Arsenal Technical High School was established in 1912. The Indiana State School for the Deaf was once located on the site of current Willard Park.
