Observing the world’s consumption rate in the contemporary
times, it is clear that using eco-friendly methods of production of
goods should be a necessity, in order to reduce its destructive
impact on the environment. The demand for such methods is most
striking in agriculture, where pesticides and chemicals responsible
for preventing plant diseases actually have a significantly destructive
impact on the natural surroundings.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
The project is unique thanks to its simplicity, that still brings along an innovative, ecological
solution, which has a considerable potential in food and plant protection. It uses substances
obtained from plants as a tool to protect them from pathogens, which constitutes a significant
step in the direction of finding a natural alternative for pesticides or food protection specifities.
WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT:
IT ALLOWS THE REDUCTION OF FOOD WASTE.
It is estimated that about 20% of all fruits and vegetables produced is lost
each year due to spoilage.
IT IS HIGHLY EFFECTIVE IN FIGHTING MICROBIAL
CONTAMINATIONS OF FOOD AND PLANTS,
which may take place during any stage of the crops life; harvesting,
handling, transportation or storage.
IT PROVIDES THE TECHNOLOGY FOR FARMERS, TRANSPORT
COMPANIES, PRODUCERS AND CUSTOMERS.
Reducing waste while maintaining or enhancing food quality requires
intervention at all stages of the supply chain.

The project has been developed for over 2 years and it has been awarded several distinctions,
including:
International Environment Sustainability Project Olympiad 2015 – 1st Prize
European Union Competition for Young Scientists – special donated EXPO Prize 2015
PwC project mentoring programme
The project is now ready to become an actual business technological concept – as a company
providing various markets with an essential oils composition that can be integrated into the fields
of food, plant and environment protection.
