This document summarizes a capstone project analyzing broadband internet speed and availability across US counties. The project used multiple data sources to analyze hypotheses about broadband access clustering in urban areas and relationships between broadband speed, economic factors, and population size. Visualizations revealed broadband growth is inconsistent across counties and identified economic factors are mild drivers of technology implementation. The study concluded broadband availability improves state economies and communities by providing opportunities, but should be incorporated with other economic and social development.
