She discussed the business benefits of various standards including the 835 and 837 transactions. Research was conducted through focus groups and surveys to understand consumer interest in alternative medicine and perceptions of Pharmaca. Surveys showed consumers were interested in alternative medicine and had an overall positive impression of Pharmaca. Location, promotions, word-of-mouth, and coupons were found to encourage visits to Pharmaca stores.
