4) While Americans were split on immigration attitudes, Latinos strongly supported a path to citizenship and compassionate treatment of immigrants.

A community survey was conducted in Willacy County, Texas regarding parks and recreation. The majority of respondents were Hispanic females aged 36-50 living in Lasara. Most respondents have children and participate in organized sports. There was strong support for developing both indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. The top requested outdoor facilities included picnic areas, walking trails, and swimming pools. For indoor facilities, fitness rooms and a community center with a gym and pool were most popular. Respondents said they would use parks in Port Mansfield if amenities like trails and fishing piers were improved. The greatest need in the county is more recreation programs and facilities.
