CAE Projects
FE modelling of sheet metal subsystem of automotive mini truck door for dynamic
analysis: The project involved importing the geometry into hm13, cleaning up for meshing.The
element size and quality was chosen as per the client requirement for 2D shell for sheet metals
and 3D hexa mesh for brackets. The subsystem also consisted of assembly using spot welds
(ACM and RBAR). The FE model was checked for quality and connections were checked by
carrying out a free-free modal analysis
2. Midsurface meshing of plastic door trims components for crash analysis of a sedan car:
The aim of the project is to create a mid-surface mesh for plastic components, the critical regions
in the components were the dog-house, bosses. The size and quality of the shell elements were
as per client requirements. Rigid connectors were used as per client configuration. The F.E model
was checked for various quality parameters
