Natural Horsemanship – What’s
involved?
› Talking is not an option

› MOTIVATOR (pressure) – Body Language

› REWARD – remove pressure

› Use basic need of the horse to our benefit
            REWARD = BE LEFT ALONE

› So what does this mean in reality?
  DO WHAT I WANT and I WILL REWARD
                YOU

› Everyone wants to be with the alpha

› ALPHA = LEADER

› ALPHA moves, rest follow

› So how do I control the herd/group?
HOw does this relate to human
interaction?

› Basic concept of PUSH/PULL

› How do we get an individual to do something?
Characteristics of a good alpha
(equine or human)
› Consistency
       YES means YES means YES means YES

› Control the amount of ‘pressure’
› Use minimal amount of pressure (motivator) to get the
  wanted result
› Take care of the Herd/Team
› Try to be someone who the team respects and looks up
  to
› Lead by example
   Don’t expect from the team what you are not willing to do yourself
What have I learned regarding people
leadership?
›   Know your team members
     › What makes them ‘tick’?
     › Find rapport/connection


›   Accept people’s limitations up to a certain point
     › Not everyone can be the best


›   Use the minimal amount of ‘pressure’ (MOTIVATOR) needed to get
    the wanted reaction and then find the correct REWARD

›   Take care of your team

›   Try to be someone who the team respects and looks up to
     › Very much dependent on the corporate culture
