Introduction
It took place in Lesser Antilles, Greater Antilles, Turks and
  Caicos, Bahamas, Hispanola, Eastern USA, Eastern Canada
  and Europe.

It started on 18th August 2011 and it finish 10 days later,
  on the 28th August 2011.

The damages were more than 16.6 billions dollars (equal
  to 7 millions euros).
Description
The winds reached almost 120 mph (195 kilometres per
 hour).

The lower pressure that the hurricane reached was 942
 mbar (hPa); 27.82 inHg.

It was created by a tropical wave and it became to a
 tropical storm.

On 24th August was the day when the hurricane was
 stronger.
Consequences
The hurricane caused 51 deaths, 49 directly from the
  hurricane and 2 of them not directly.

During its way Irene caused general damages.

Irene wasn’t only a storm, it also caused several floods
  and fires.

Apart from deaths, the hurricane destroyed hospitals,
  houses, schools, parks, fields, bridges, roads and it left
  people homeless.
Preparations
Before the hurricane came as a strong storm, the
 previous days there was a lot of wind and rain.

About 65 billion people from United States, Antilles and
 other regions of the Atlantic Ocean were evacuated from
 their homes because they were in danger because of
 Irene.
