The National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi established by Ministry of
Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India, in Collaboration with UNDP, UNESCO
in 1966 at Ranchi Jharkhand, offers B. Tech. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and
Manufacturing Engineering, M. Tech. degree in Material Science and Engineering, Manufacturing
Engineering, Foundry‐Forge Technology, and Environmental Engineering, PhD and Advanced
Diploma in Foundry Technology and Advanced Diploma in Forge Technology.
The Institute has five departments of studies namely Foundry Technology, Forge Technology,
Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and Applied Science and
Humanities. Students are selected for admission through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE‐Main) for
B. Tech. course; through Centralized Counselling of M. Tech. (CCMT) for M. Tech courses: through
written test and Interview for doctoral and Advanced Diploma courses conducted by NIFFT.
Applications are invited from Indian nationals possessing good academic background along with self‐
motivation to quality teaching and research for faculty positions at all levels for the following
departments from all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC & PwD)

5. Applied Science and Humanities
The institute is presently pursuing expansion in academic programs. As a part of this, the Institute
will shortly establish Department of Computer Engineering.

(b) Faculty members of the Institute shall have teaching and research as their primary responsibility.
However, they shall also exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be assigned
to them by the Director/BOG or any other authority of the Institute.
(c) All faculties are required to stay inside the campus only. In the event of the Institute not being able to
provide suitable accommodation inside the campus, they will be permitted to stay outside. HRA will be
admissible in that case.
(d) All qualifications and experience will be considered as on the closing date for receipt of
applications.
(e) Higher starting pay may be offered to deserving candidates on recommendation of the selection
committee.
(f) Post wise reservation will be followed as per Government of India Reservation policy applicable
to centrally funded Technical Institution
(g) Submission of Academic Performance Indicator (API) Score in the prescribed format and acquiring
minimum score as stipulated is essential for the post of professor and Associate Professor.
(h) Candidates may have to deliver lecture at the interview stage.
(i) The minimum requirement of qualifications and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of extra
ordinary candidate.

1 Incomplete application in any respect will not be entertained by the Institute.
2. Mere fulfillment of the above mentioned qualification & experience does not entitle a
candidate to be called for interview. Institute will further make the criteria on the
recommendations of the Scrutiny committee to arrive at a reasonable number of

4. Separate applications must be submitted if a candidate is applying in more than one
department.
5. A Demand Draft of Rs 500/‐, drawn in favour of “NIFFT, Ranchi” payable at any
nationalized bank in Ranchi for each application (50% in case of SC / ST & fully exempted
for women & PwD candidates).
6. Candidates already in service should send their applications through proper channel.
However, an advance copy along with required fee/ certificates / detailed marks sheets /
documents etc. may be sent directly.
7. Preference will be given to candidate who have one of the Degrees from a premier
Institute of India viz, IITs, IISc, JNU or any other Institute of National Importance, Research
experience in an organization of repute outside / inside India and /or independent research
guidance / research project. Industrial experience in the field of Foundry, Forge,
Manufacturing and Metallurgical Industries.
8. Reservation policy will be applicable as per the MHRD (Govt. of India) norms/rules. For
availing reservation, the category certificate must be submitted along with application.
9. Application form & Academic performance indicator (API) score to be submitted by the
candidates in the prescribed format are available in Part – A and Part – B of the application
form.
10. 3% of the vacancies are reserved for persons with disabilities as per GOI rules subject
to producing the Disability Certificate in the prescribed format issued by the Competent
Medical Board.
11. No correspondence, whatsoever, will be entertained from the candidates regarding
postal delays, conduct and result of Interview and reasons for not being called for
Interview or selection.
12. The age of retirement is 65 years for all posts as per present Rule.

Any dispute with regard to the selection/recruitment process will be subject to
Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction over Ranchi only.

Professional Development Allowance (PDA) of 3.0 Lacs in a three year block, for attending
conference in india as well as abroad, and for membership of professional bodies, etc.
Medical Facilities as per Medical Attendance and Treatment Rules of the
Institute. Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per the Government of India rules. Children Education
Allowance as per the Government of India rules.
The Institute residences are in the campus. House rent allowance is only payable in case of non‐
availability of accommodation in the campus.
How to apply
Step-1: Download the Application Form [Part-A] and API [Part-B] from the Institute
website and take print-out in white colour A4 size photocopy paper on single
side only. Using Application Forms from any other source is acceptable if the
same is exactly as per the prescribed format.
Step-2: Fill the application form in CAPITAL letters and in clear hand-writing / type-
writing. Put your signature in all required places.
Step-3: Thread-tag or staple-pin the self-attested photocopies of documents as
mentioned in the form. Write your name, post applied and mobile number on
back side of the DD/BC (if applicable) and keep the DD/BC on top of the
Application Form.
Step-4: Put everything neatly inside a good quality envelope and close the envelope
by gum or adhesive tape (don’t use stapler-pin). Write the name of the post
applied for and Department at the top-left corner of the envelope and send by
Speed Post only.

  • 1. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOUNDRY & FORGE TECHNOLOGY, RANCHI ADVERTISEMENT FOR RECRUITMENT OF FACULTY POSTS Advt. No.– NIFFT / ESTT / Recruitment / July-2018 / 01 The National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi established by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India, in Collaboration with UNDP, UNESCO in 1966 at Ranchi Jharkhand, offers B. Tech. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, M. Tech. degree in Material Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Foundry‐Forge Technology, and Environmental Engineering, PhD and Advanced Diploma in Foundry Technology and Advanced Diploma in Forge Technology. The Institute has five departments of studies namely Foundry Technology, Forge Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and Applied Science and Humanities. Students are selected for admission through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE‐Main) for B. Tech. course; through Centralized Counselling of M. Tech. (CCMT) for M. Tech courses: through written test and Interview for doctoral and Advanced Diploma courses conducted by NIFFT. Applications are invited from Indian nationals possessing good academic background along with self‐ motivation to quality teaching and research for faculty positions at all levels for the following departments from all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC & PwD) 1. Foundry Technology 2. Forge Technology 3. Manufacturing Engineering 4. Materials and Metallurgical Engineering 5. Applied Science and Humanities The institute is presently pursuing expansion in academic programs. As a part of this, the Institute will shortly establish Department of Computer Engineering. However, the applicants may update their bio‐data / C.V /API, if desired. (b) Faculty members of the Institute shall have teaching and research as their primary responsibility. However, they shall also exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be assigned to them by the Director/BOG or any other authority of the Institute. (c) All faculties are required to stay inside the campus only. In the event of the Institute not being able to provide suitable accommodation inside the campus, they will be permitted to stay outside. HRA will be admissible in that case. (d) All qualifications and experience will be considered as on the closing date for receipt of applications. (e) Higher starting pay may be offered to deserving candidates on recommendation of the selection committee. (f) Post wise reservation will be followed as per Government of India Reservation policy applicable to centrally funded Technical Institution (g) Submission of Academic Performance Indicator (API) Score in the prescribed format and acquiring minimum score as stipulated is essential for the post of professor and Associate Professor. (h) Candidates may have to deliver lecture at the interview stage. (i) The minimum requirement of qualifications and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of extra ordinary candidate.
