1) The document discusses strategies for making engineering students placement ready. It outlines four approaches - conducting faculty development programs on projects, promoting industry collaboration through problem-solving initiatives, establishing research-based master's programs, and developing specific skills in students.
2) A key strategy is to involve students from the first year in long-term projects with industry mentors and publishing papers to improve skills. Industry is encouraged to provide problems and funding while students gain experience.
3) A proposed "Innovate" portal would facilitate collaboration between industry and academics on practical problems. Industry involvement could reduce training costs through co-developed resources.

National Education Policy is a game-changer with equal stress on our Indian Knowledge System and International Education System. Freedom to chose subjects amongst 'Streams' with 'No Silos', multiple entries & multiple exit and flexibility in completion of Higher studies as different learners have different capabilities... are some salient points. The policy is very original, Indic and strong but it all depends now on Implementation. I understand we will get our first batch of freshers in Engineering colleges in 2024. I welcome any more observations.

Deep Learning was constrained with two key factors for practical applicability. One was the availability of Big Data. With the explosion of Big Data with Internet growth solving the Data problem, the second issue was that even with Big Data availability, to get the compute power required to harvest valuable knowledge from Big Data.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Now, the
Let us go for a four prong approach
A.FDP on “How to Conduct Projects”
B.INNOVATE with Industry
C.M.tech by Research
D.Making them Placement Ready
13. A. FDP on “How to Conduct Projects”
• Projects to be floated by the faculty
• Identification of feasibility by all faculty in the department
• Add one student of 3rd year and one student of 2nd year, who will take this legacy on
• Multi discipline team for projects
• Publish theTechnical Paper in UGC approved journal
• Participate in Project exhibitions
• Continue with the same project for three years
• Show to MSME and IEDC, DST
14. B. Innovate with Industry
Solution from Different
RegisteredColleges or
University/ State or
Nation with Mentorship
from India and abroad
Problems from Different
Registered Industries with
Mentors from Industry
Funding Agencies eg. DST/

15. INNOVATE is Unique
• Flipboard/ Inshorts/TED/ HBC Channel Notifications/ professional
magazines are one way communication
• WIKI/ QUORA is a Question Answer Collaborative page
• LinkedIn is professional worker’s website
• No portal to communicate on practical area
16. C. Why should the Industry Collaborate
• ReducedTraining cost & Better Resources (CXO’s Nightmare)
• Watermelon story
• Float the M.tech. (by Research) program
• Course work of four subjects of 12-16 credits done from any university or through
Online courses (MOOCs, Swayam, NPTEL etc.) anytime.
• If completed 10 years in Industry, this can be waived off on clearance of screening
committee.
17. M.tech. by Research Program
• The candidate shall make the lab manual of one of the labs of UG level.
• The candidate would mentor at least one group (4 students) in their summer
training/ internship, project and technical paper presentation.
• Special Lecture(Graduate Lecture or Seminar) by the candidate in respective
department.
• The candidate will have at least two technical papers; i.e. one with UG students and
other as first name along with his guide. Both the papers must be in peer reviewed
journals and conferences.
• Criterion for successful completion: Dissertation Report as per the previous and
current experience of the candidate and based upon the technical papers
presented.
