OVERVIEW
Food is a blend of middle eastern
and Asian countries.
Cuisine is cosmopolitan many
dishes from around the world
Similarity with LEVANTINE food
such as Shawarma, Hummus,
Tabbouleh and mixed grill.
Due to hot desert weather
conditions food tradition uses a
lot of meat, grains and dairy.
 Vegetables also commonly
used. Famous Emirati
cooking flavors include
saffron,cardamom,turmeri
c and thyme.

INCLUDES bread LIKE
RAQAQ ,khameer and
chabab served with
cheese, date, syrup, or
eggs.

sugar, cardamom and saffron.

blended with crushed dates

butter.

served with sweets at the end
of the main meal ,which helps
in digestion.
 Coffee(Gahwa) : The scent
of rich, strong Arabic
coffee,gahwa ( ‘qahwa’) is a
symbol of Arabian hospitality.
 coffee is the reigning king of
drinks in Arabia ,it is typically
spiced(cardamom)
 Karak chai:
 tea has gained immense popularity in
the form of karak chai.
 Karak is derived from the word ‘kadak’
which means strong in Hindi.
 It shows UAE’s long-standing trade and
cultural relationship with India.
Jellab and Qamardeen:
 A classic Arabic drink is the jellab.
 A blend of grape molasses and rose
water, topped with pine nuts and raisins.
 It’s a popular drink during Ramadan, as
is qamardeen, a thick apricot drink.
 Laban and
ayran(TURKEY)
 Healthy enough to
feature in diet plans.
 laban is a cooling
buttermilk drink, in the
Middle East ,SOMETIMES
ICED AND SALTED.
 Camel Milk:is the
most favored drink on
breakfast among
Emirati families.

served in clubs and
bars, but not in
SHARJAH,AND
PROHIBITED generally.

CONCLUSION
i. Hence, the delicious cuisine of the UAE is a reflection of the great popular
Arabian heritage and vast exposure to civilizations over time. Muslims are
prohibited from eating pork so it is not included in the Arab menus.
ii. Shawarma, Hummus, Tabbouleh and mixed grill are not naturally National
Arab foods but are just the recent additions.
iii. Meat ,Fish and Rice are the staple foods of Emirati Cuisine.
iv. The tasty and delicious cuisine of UAE is the reason of the long queue of
thousands of travellers outside the Arab Restaurants.
v. Healthy and proper Diet is the symbol of brave,prosperous and flourishing
generations and so is the beautiful state of UAE,with its healthy and tasty
flavors spread on the National Globe.
