Cuba is the largest Caribbean island nation with a land area of 110,860 sq km and over 11 million people. It has a population that is primarily mixed European and African descent and Spanish is the main language. Cuba has a long history first as a Spanish colony and then having a tumultuous relationship with the United States in the 20th century including the Bay of Pigs invasion and Cuban Missile Crisis.
