DESIGN ACADEMY
NATA is a competitive entrance exam for pursuing career in Architecture (B.Arch. Courses) and
requires lot of hard work, consistency and regular practise to make it to the list of successful
candidates. NATA entrance exam judges your drawing skills, your ability to put your thoughts by
way of drawing/sketching and is the most important skill required for any to be Architect. Your
feelings and thoughts in Architecture career is only expressed by way of your drawings and proper
planning.
NATA paper pattern is as below:
Part A: Consists of Mathematics and General Aptitude Test. Both these tests are online.
Mathematics consists of 20 questions for two marks each total 40 marks and General Aptitude test
consists of 40 questions for two marks each total 80 marks.
General aptitude test consists of:
Objects, texture related to architecture and built environment, Interpretation of pictorial
compositions, Visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawing, Visualizing
different sides of 3D objects, Analytical reasoning, Mental Ability, Imaginative comprehension,
expression, & architectural awareness. General awareness of national / international architects and
famous architectural creations.
Part B: Drawing test. Total 80 Marks, two questions for two hours.
Understanding of Scale and proportion of objects, geometric compositions, shape, building forms
and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast, light & shadows, Generating plan,
elevation and 3D views of objects, Perspective drawing, sketching of urbanscape and landscape,
Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms, Common day-to-day life objects like
furniture, equipment etc. from memory, Conceptualization and Visualization through structuring
objects in memory.
