God appeared to Moses and told him that He had seen the suffering of the Israelites enslaved in Egypt. God was concerned for His people and wanted to rescue them from Egypt, bringing them to a land of milk and honey. God instructed Moses to go to Pharaoh and demand that he free the Israelites. Moses questioned how the Israelites would believe that God had sent him, so God revealed His name as "I Am" and told Moses this is what he should say. God promised to bring the Israelites out of Egypt and into the land of Canaan. He told Moses to go tell the elders of Israel about God's promise to rescue them from their misery.

1. Exodus 3:7
The Lord said, ‘I have indeed seen the misery of
My people in Egypt. I have heard them crying
out because of their slave drivers, and I am
concerned about their suffering.

2. Exodus 3:8
So I have come down to rescue them from the
hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out
of that land into a good and spacious land, a land
flowing with milk and honey—the home of the
Canaanites, Hittities, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites
and Jebusites.

3. Exodus 3:9-10
And now the cry of the Israelites has reached
me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are
oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you
to Pharaoh to bring My people the Israelites out
of Egypt.’

But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should
go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of

and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has
sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His

God said to Moses, “I Am who I Am. This is what
you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I Am has sent me
to you.’” God also said to Moses, ‘Say to the

God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is My
name forever, the name by which I am to be
remembered from generation to generation.”

10. Reality eventually hits us with our LIMITATIONS.
We like to live with the delusion
that we are SELF-SUFFICIENT.

11. Yahweh never CHANGES and He never acts out of
character.
Yahweh is SELF-EXISTING.
YAHWEH is the personal and
relational name that God
revealed about Himself

12. …trials didn’t mean the ABSENCE of God.
We don’t see more SIGNS of God’s presence
because we refuse to step out in faith in response
to His call.
Yahweh is truly a God who is
PRESENT.

13. Despite how things may appear He will keep His
PROMISES.
EXCUSES are our way of saying to God, “I don’t
really believe.”
Yahweh has the DESIRE and
the POWER to keep His
covenantal promises.

14. Are you pursuing an experience or a God who has
MORE in store.

with people.
