Women and the Importance of Sleep
Texas Health Resources and the Advances in Medicine Lecture Series are proud to collaborate with the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center on a lecture about women and the importance of sleep.
Clinical sleep disorder and sleep debt are often unrecognized, untreated misdiagnosed in millions of women. The amount of sleep a woman gets every night can affect her stress level, weight and overall health. Sleep loss even increases aging including memory.
This lecture presented by Dr. Emily Kirby will bring to light causes, effects and solutions. Written by Anne L. Smalligan, BSN, Med. with Kaye Renshaw, LPC
In this presentation, I provide tips on improving sleep and treating insomnia. Insomnia can be devastating, as it effects both nightime and daytime function. Fortunately, there are many effective ways to improve sleep quality.

“Love” can brighten our world, but at the same time, it can also turn our lives blue. Many people are facing sleep deprivation because of lovesick or love-struck.
They cannot shut their eyes, heart, and brain. They stay up all night and think of someone; one who break their heart or one who they fell in love with.
Sleep deprivation caused by love problems harms people both mentality and physically which sometimes results in depression, fluctuations in weight, and memory loss.
If we cannot hold our heart from loving someone, how we can solve our sleep deprivation. It’s hard right? Don’t worry. We have solutions for love versus sleep!

Brahmacharya means control of the Veerya. The vital force or Veerya is preserved only by one who is established in the practice of Brahmacharya. The vital fluid or semen is lost and wasted during sexual indulgence.
From food comes juice or chyle; from chyle comes blood and flesh; from flesh comes fat; from fat comes bones; from bones come marrow. Lastly, from marrow comes semen.
The Veerya comes out of the very marrow concealed in the bones. It is found in a subtle state in all the cells of the body. Mark here how precious the semen is! It is the last essence of food. It is the essence of essences.
In Yoga Shastra it is stated: "The falling of semen brings death; the preservation of it gives life." 'The nemesis of reproduction is death. The sexual act is essentially katabolic (or a movement towards death) in the male, and in parturition of the offspring it is katabolic for the female.'

It Is Natural to Feel Anxious
There’s a good chance that we’ve all experienced feelings of
anxiety in response to real or perceived threats at one time or
another. For most people, these feelings are normal as the brain
is hard-wired to caution you at times of danger, change and the
unknown.
In fact, in many situations, experiencing a certain level of anxiety
and stress can help boost your performance in specific tasks. For
instance, a person might experience a heightened level of anxiety
the days leading up to a public event and that’s a completely
normal reaction.
Psychologists believe that anxiety is your body’s natural response
to stress and that this stress triggers a system in the brain that
accentuates your performance. So, a little anxiety now and then
is okay and might be your body’s way of preparing for an
impending change

That Said, Not Every Anxious Feeling Is Normal
For some, these feelings can be all-consuming, impairing the
individual’s ability to enjoy life as they’d otherwise like to. For some, anxiety might treat their everyday events as life-or-death situations. It can become a disorder and that isn’t a good place to
be in. Fortunately, in most cases, there is always a way out. And one of the first steps to finding that way out is to dive into your mind and listen to what it might be trying to tell you.
It’s About Accepting Your Anxiety, Embracing and Understanding It Too
There is no shame in being anxious. And we would prefer not to have put this obvious point across (because it’s obvious and should ideally not need any re-affirmation). But sadly, because
of how this feeling can be trivialized and/or stigmatized, it’s important to let all those who experience anxiety know that they are not alone and by accepting it they’ll also be overcoming it.
This book is an attempt to throw some light on the much relevant topic. We’ve kept it short and brief because we don’t want to overload you with information but want to ease you into the expansive subject one book at a time.
In this book, we talk about 7 ways anxiety might be slowly eating
away your lives. We discuss:
1. Overthinking and obsessive thoughts
2. Lack of self-assurance and fear of judgment
3. Phobias and traumas
4. Workplace anxiety
5. Social anxiety
6. Eating disorder
7. Insomnia
On that note, we warmly welcome you to our book titled, 7 Ways Anxiety Might Be Slowly Eating Away Your Life.’ We’ve had an enriching experience putting together this meaningful book and hope you feel benefited by it.

Obesity is not merely indulging into overeating and having a bulky body. It is more like a gateway to severe health diseases. Obese people should not be ridiculed; rather they should be taken care off. Obesity is calculated according to the body mass index (BMI) of a person’s body. Dividing the weight of a person in pounds by the square of his height in meters we get the BMI calculated. If an individual’s BMI is 30 or above then he falls under the category of an obese. New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

2. In common usage the night fall
means emission or ejaculation of
semen during night. This is called
nocturnal emission or ejaculation.
Usually there is an association of
erotic dream.
Many people feel nervous, shy, or
loser due to night fall. Some worry
about weakness; since there is a
notion (false belief) that loss of
semen is associated with weakness
and impotence. This false belief
can make a man anxious and
obsessed with the fear of weakness
and impotence. Some develop guilt
and feeling of inferiority for
inability to retain the semen. Some
develop a feeling of a kind of
useless and “nagging breach of

promiscuity”!
Since they neither get the
satisfaction of actual physical
intercourse, nor any sublime or
spiritual gratification, they feel
kind of let down or deceived due
to night fall or nocturnal
ejaculation. Since no one else can
be blamed they cannot complain
to any one also! These feelings can
ruin you if you do not get a

Management!
If you get night fall; do not worry.
It is natural. The seminal vesicles
get filled with secretions of
prostate and testes from time to
time and hence get emptied also
4. from time to time. But this
emptying is usually associated
with sexual act, when and if it is
performed. The ejaculation
during night in absence of actual
sexual intercourse; is associated
with dream of erotic nature,
which crudely mimics the sexual
intercourse. There is nothing to
worry and/or feel guilty in any
way!
Still if it bothers you, then
practice:
1.Namasmaran for about 1 hour
2.Walking and pranayama, 1
hour
3.Drinking lot of water
4.Eating green and leafy
vegetables and salads
5. 5.Avoiding spicy and oily dishes,
and onions and garlic.
6. Avoiding erotic movies, blue
films, literature and other
erotic or pornographic acts of
titillation; especially before
sleeping
7.Chyavanaprash with cow milk
8.There are drugs such as
sedatives or tranquillizers and
Ayurvedic drugs such as
Spemen Forte but should not
be tried unless strongly advised
by your consulting physician.
