 Kantapura is his first novel.

8.  As Indian we feel connected with Ramayan and
Mahabharat. We can see this in novel.
 Because of this people of kanthapura feel connected
and ready to give support.
 In beginning the local sastri, a learned schooled
officiated Harikatha.
 In Harikatha he initiated the villagers into Gandhian
principal in religious manner.

9.  Jayamachary compare divine birth of Gandhiji. Here is he talk
about scene heaven.
 Round table conference is compared with Ram’s exile. In
novel we find line,
“ Mahatma will go to Redam’s country… he will get
us swarajya…. Come back with Sita on his right
chariot of air”.

10.  His return from conference is compared the Ram’s to
Ayodjya.
 Like Hanuman the follower of Gandhiji are equally ready to
get out he’s instructions at any time.
 Kanchamma is local Goddess protects the villigers from
disease, death, and despair.
 According to villigers kanchamma protected the village
from onslaught of traffic monster. Who asked their songs for
feed and young woman as wives.

11.  In the title page Raja Tap quotes the Gita “ whensoever
there is misery and ignorance, I come.”
 Also we see use of God of Siva. He says that the way siva has
three eyes the swaraj has also three eyes.
“ siva is three- eued and swaraj too is three-eyed : self
purification, Hindu Muslim unity and khadder”

12. “ Myth can’t be translated as they did in their ancient
soil we can find our own meaning in our time”
We find that this quote is become true as the Raja Rao’s
connection with the myth.
Through this mythic reference in novel Raja Rao makes
spirit of Kanthapura to participate in epic struggle.
