My year review
Review of my writingWhen I came into year 7 my writing was missing good punctuation and paragraphs.I used less interesting vocabulary and boring words for speech like “he said” over and over again. In my work my sentences were less varied – mostly the same –all long complex sentences. My spelling was slightly patchy and I sometimes missed out smaller words like and , it and I which made my work jumpy.
ImprovementI found out what the writing AFs wereI got to know the AFs and looked at what Mr. Bousfield said when he marked my workI worked out which AFs I needed to work onI Used vocabulary like !,? and ;I used the 3 paragraph ruleI have one connective in each paragraphI used a thesaurus to find vivid vocabulary
ResultNow I have more connectives in my writingI always have 3 paragraphsI use semicolonsI have vivid vocabularyI always use a new line for a new speaker“the next morning I looked out the window to see if there was a dead bat on the bonet;nothing, just my car sat in the drive, although there was a slight crack in the windscreen.”
