“Feline Infertility” on Vancouver Island, BC
3. This was definitely not the more
attended lecture of 2014 but however,
it did feel special. Why? The location
must have played a big role: I always
enjoyed traveling to BC and this was
definitely a fantastic spot. What made
it special as well were the discussions
we had during the talk: it was
supposed to be a 1h lecture… which
ended up in a 3h session! And all of
this despite of my Franglich !

“Timing of ovulation” in canines
Canada is a huge country and
geography often is a challenge. That’s
why I love that I have the possibility to
organize webinars. It’s obviously a lot
of work, I am always hoping that
technology will not let me down
during the online event but so far we
did great. We did a series on « Timing
of ovulation in canines » that 200+
online participants joined. For 2015,
definitely something we will carry on!

“Neonatal care” in Quebec City , QC
My colleague Marie booked me for a
talk in Quebec City on (date). Before
we arrived at the hotel where we were
supposed to have the lecture, she told
me that she hoped people will show
up because there was a snow storm
warning going on and she did not
realize there was a political debate on
TV at the same time. Lots of
organizational challenges but we were
going to be pleasantly suprised… 80+
people showed up and stayed until the
end to listen to my 3-hour talk!

“Convention Provinciale” in Drummondville, QC
I always wished we could organize a
large breeder convention on canine
reproduction in Canada. But to do that
you need a motivated crew… which my
colleagues in Quebec were! They came
up with the idea of the « Convention
Provinciale » in Drummondville. To
sum up : a full day of lectures, 3
different speakers, 100+ breeders
attending, great discussions. Definitely
a WOW PRO moment !

“Panamerican Convention” in Toronto, ON
I have always been fascinated by the
Americas and the diversity that can be
found on such a huge continent. Our
annual Pan-American Convention gives
us the opportunity once a year to bring
it all together. In 2014, we discussed
feline breeding practices in Toronto
and realized that whether we live in
Canada, US, Mexico or Chile, we all
share the same challenges. Great
learning experience, and I can tell you I
can’t wait for the 2015 edition !
