He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2. ELLIE’S PHOTOS #1
Ellie is being presented with a glamorous celebrity pose. This will interest the target
audience who will be able to recognise that pose and therefore be intrigued by their role
model. Furthermore, she has a party-like dress on which shows her fashion sense is strong
and therefore may interest the target audience even more. The fact the dress resembles a
party dress, also may interest the target audience who are recently discovering the concept
of partying and therefore show some interest to the model and therefore the magazine. On
top of this, she is wearing some stylish glasses, which reinforces the theme that the target
audience may be able to relate with the model. Furthermore, she is smiling excessively
which indicates how happy she is. This is also a theme portrayed by pop music, which may
cause the target audience further interest as they will love pop music. Finally, I ensured
that the lighting on her face reflected a bright and happy vibe rather than a dark and
gloomy feel. The lighting could be associated with that of pop music, due
to the happy theme, which might once again interest the target audience.
3. HOW I EDITED ELLIE’S PHOTO
I firstly selected the ‘magic wand’ tool on the left
hand side.
From there I highlighted the area of the photo I
wanted to eliminate. In this case, every where apart
from the photo. This
therefore included the green screen.
I then selected the ‘colour range’ tool to start the
process of changing my models dress colour.
4. I then selected the colour of the shirt
to highlight that area. Then I selected
‘OK’ once the appropriate area was
highlighted.
Then I selected a new
hue/saturation layer, while
my desired area was
highlighted.
I then modified the colours
on the colour bar to select
the appropriate colour.
5. WHY I MODIFIED MY MODELS DRESS COLOUR
I modified my photo to have different colours for the lip stick and dress,
using the colour range tool, as I believed using appropriate colours is
essential for targeting my audience. A brighter purple and pink colour rather
than black will portray pop music much more, which will appeal to my target
audience who love pop.
6. TYLER’S PHOTO
Tyler is doing three different poses, with each pose looking slightly seductive which aims
to appeal to the target audience, who is of the opposite gender. Furthermore, he is
smiling in each photo which represents the feeling portrayed by the pop genre, which
also aims to appeal to the target audience. He is also wearing a trendy, male-popular
shirt. This suggests the magazine keeps up to date with regular trends which aims to
also interest the target audience who will like keeping up to date and following their role
models changes in fashion. Just like my previous images, I ensured the lighting was
evident on his face which would portray the theme represented in pop music, happy and
upbeat, rather than dark and miserable.
7. GROUP PHOTO #1
For each member, the model is portraying a happy vibe which is also
represented in pop music. This aims to interest the target audience who love
pop music and therefore will enjoy seeing their role models portrayed
similarly. Furthermore, they are all in a close proximity of each other which
suggests they are a boy band, appealing to the target audience. They are also
all wearing casual clothes which are fairly bright, promoting the theme of pop
music, hoping to interest to the target audience. They also do not look too
serious, due to their normal clothing and casual poses, which once again
portrays pop music. Furthermore, their casual attitude stereotypically
represents the attitude of young teenage girls, potentially causing them to be
interested.
8. For Ellie’s second images, she is wearing a dress which would be commonly
associated with fashion, since it looks appealing and desirable. This may interest
the target audience of young teenage girls who are likely to be interested in
different fashion. Furthermore, she is smiling which indicates she is happy, a
feeling portrayed also by pop music. Therefore, the target audience may associate
the model with pop music, causing further interest. She has hair which is pretty,
attracting attention from females who might want to know how to do it, and also
modern. It is likely that young teenage girls will also have, or have had, a similar
hairstyle to this and therefore may be able to relate causing interest. She also has a
pose which resembles a model’s photo shoot. Therefore, the target audience may
be intrigued as she is portraying a celebrity theme, meaning young teenage girls
and more likely to recognise and therefore be interested by her. Finally, the
lighting is very strong in this photo, as I really wanted to portray an intensely
happy vibe, similar to that of pop music, aiming to interest the target audience who
will love pop music.
ELLIE’S PHOTO #2
9. ELI’S PHOTOS
On the left hand side, you can see the first images of Eli I have taken, for my front cover. I
ensured she was wearing clothes which represented the pop genre. Therefore, she is
wearing bright clothing, indicating a happy and positive attitude, similar to that portrayed
by the pop genre. This aims to attract the target audience. Her smile also portrays a happy
feeling, just like the clothing, which helps to attract the target audience. Her hair is very
basic and similar to what a young teenage girl might have. I did this because I want the
target audience to be able to relate with their role models, causing interest.
On the right hand side is the second image of Eli. It is similar to the first one of her,
however, I changed the clothing to a brighter colour to further symbolise and represent pop
music. This once again aims to attract the target audience, who will love pop. On top of
this, she is wearing some basic make-up to remove spots and blemishes. This makes her
look more like a model and will appeal to a target audience who are likely to want to know
how to look like their role models.
10. NATHAN’S PHOTOS
For these photos, I once again realised that I needed the model to portray a happy
vibe. Both images do this, with one look more extreme than the other. One of them
is calmer, yet also portrays more of a seductive look which will appeal to the
opposite gender, attracting my target audience. For the clothing, the model is
wearing a plain shirt, but I would like to change the colour of this like I have done
before, potentially to a bright colour, once again representing pop music. The
jacket is also very trendy and represents a typical young male model, which aims to
attract a target audience who like to see current trends in society. They will also
look at the jacket and possibly associate it with more popular pop artists hey have
seen wearing it in the past, causing some interest.
11. TYLERS’S PHOTOS
Tyler’s second photo is very different from the others, as it breaks a stereotype.
Men are usually portrayed in pop magazines as fairly masculine, yet still upbeat
and happy. Tyler, however, is portraying a happy feeling, helping to promote pop
music, but he is also wearing a pink vest with a heart on it. The colours and heart
combined help to also portray pop music to interest the target audience.
However, with Tyler wearing this costume, it will help the target audience to
almost relate with him a bit more than they usually could, since he is
representing a female look. This will help the target audience to be interested
more in the magazine. On top of this, the lighting is intense which helps makes
him look even more happy.
12. ELLIE’S PHOTO #3
These photos of Ellie are fairly similar to previous ones, other than the fact she is
wearing different clothing. Once again, however, the clothing is bright rather
than dark and gloomy to ensure the magazine attracts to pop fans, who will like a
brighter colour scheme. Furthermore, on this image, she is wearing glowing pink
lip-stick which portrays glamour and once again, the colour is bright which
portrays pop music once again. Also, her hair is casual rather than modified to
look amazing, as I feel this will cause the target audience to be able to relate with
their role model which gives them more of an interest in the magazine.
13. ELLIE’S PHOTO #4
Once again, I have conventions for this image, similar to ones used before. For
example, I followed pop music magazine conventions by ensuring she was
wearing a bright outfit to demonstrate the happy feeling portrayed by pop music.
However, I decided to dress her up in a more casual outfit, as I believe this will
appeal to a target audience who may be able to relate with the dress as they may
have one similar. Furthermore, she is wearing pink lip gloss and make-up to
demonstrate her pop star vibe. This will attract a target audience of young
teenage girls who are likely to love reading and looking at glamour and make-up.
14. ELLIE’S PHOTO #5
For this final image, I once again followed the conventions by presenting her in a
bright pink shirt to portray pop music and appeal to a target audience who is
likely to enjoy the colour pink. She is also wearing make-up to portray that
glamorous, pop star vibe to ensure my target audience can recognise her as a
role model and therefore be interested. On top of this, the hairstyle is very
similar to something a young teenage girl might like to have and therefore, the
target audience can relate with this hairstyle which aims to interest them.
Furthermore, her pose is very relevant to something that a young teenage girl
might like to have which will also cause a reason for them to relate with the
magazine.
