The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Â
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying itâs good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation thatâs least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state theyâre comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

My Experience With My Father
1. My Experience With My Father
"You're just like your Daddy," grumbled my mother, walking through the kitchen and closing cabinet doors I had left open. I had to smile. I already
knew I had many traits in common with my father. We were both reticent and stoical. We both had trouble expressing our emotions. We both had
long fuses with a lot of dynamite at the end. I was definitely my father's daughter. In my younger years, my father and I had a close relationship. I
ran to the door to meet him after work. I sometimes went with him to the office on Saturdays, where I would draw pictures while he worked. My
father took great interest in his children's education and celebrated our accomplishments. At the end of the school year, he gave each of us a dollar for

We kept insisting he wouldn't really do that, and he kept insisting he would. Finally he drove us through an underpass, while a train rolled
overhead. I'm not sure how he knew the train schedule, but he did indeed let the train run over us. Another time, when I hosted a slumber party at
our house, my friends and I thought we heard something in the lower yard. My father went to check it out. Coming back, he told us, "When I got
down there, there was a man there!" I quickly realized he was talking about himself. As I grew older, my relationship with my father became more
difficult. My father's job became stressful, filled with long hours and frequent travel. At home, the family walked on eggshells to keep from
irritating him. I was a sensitive child, and the potential for an angry outburst from my father filled me with anxiety. I loved my father and never
doubted that he loved me, but I was also afraid of him. By the time I was ten years old, I hadn't yet learned to swallow pills. My mother was still
breaking them up and mixing them with something so I could get them down. Finally my father became exasperated and told me I'd better swallow a
prescribed pill or else he would cram it down my throat. Looking back, I know he wouldn't have done anything so drastic, but at the time I absolutely
believed him. I locked myself in the bathroom and kept trying to swallow the pill with no

2. My Father Essay
The leader in my life is my father, as he has helped me journey through my life till this day and will continue helping me in the near future. I think
to a large extent that my father has lead me to become the person that I am today, and I believe that I would not be the same person without my
father's positive thoughts and influential words he has provided me during the tough times I have experienced. My father has impacted me in many
ways, for example, the morals he lives by has impacted me to keep living by the same morals. The morals he believes are mostly past down from his
parents (my grandparents) and that is the reason why I will do the same in the future. I believe that my father was also greatly impacted by my

Natalie has inspired me to remember that no matter what happens, I just need to face reality and try harder next time because there will always be
another chance. I believe that Natalie is able to continue inspiring me in the future because she is still working very hard to leave a footprint on
this world and this impacts me greatly because I believe that I will one day leave something behind in the future. Natalie's source of power and
confidence in her came from within; she is a strong independent human being that was able to pick herself up no matter what life hits her with. I
believe that she would not have been so strong if it was not for her injury, this shows that there is always be something positive behind all the
negative things. She is a true leader because she is constantly spreading her own journey to many more people because she knows that there are so
many people sharing her struggle. She is so inspiring because she has said that the most powerful tool is selfâbelief. [302] My World One of the most
influential leaders in my world is Emma Watson. Emma Watson is an actress and a powerful voice for many women around the world. She starred in
the popular film series, Harry Potter, at the age of 9 and has still carried on inspiring people to this day. Emma Watson is a feminist icon;

3. Essay on My Family: My Father
As I long I will be alive, my father would stay in my heart and thoughts. Every time I see my face, I can see some of his physical features through
the mirror. He not only is my biologic father, but also my inspiration in my life. He constantly inspires me to put efforts in my impossible dreams. In
return, I want to prove him myself and how capable I can be. With his personality, his role, and his unquestionable generosity, my father is a man who
influences me the most. My father's personality is not extraordinary or amazing, on the other hand, one of the simplest one I ever know. You don't
have to be fantastic like a superhero to be recognized by the ones you love. With my dad's outgoing attitude, you would be surprise that a middle...show

However, my father would stay strong during crucial times at work for his family and himself. My father is a man of respect. I admire him as his first
and oldest daughter. No matter how mad or silly my sisters and I would get, he would be the peacemaker in the family. Let's say that my sisters and
I like to have fun at home. We have so much fun that we end up to be incredibly loud. Anyway, my dad can't stand us laughing out loud and acting
like savages at all. He would just break us apart to stop our noisy silliness. Sometimes I think my dad is overâprotective. I think this way because when
my grandâfather died. He couldn't tell me straight in the face. He didn't know how I would react with the bad news. So, my mother told me the horrible
news. Maybe he didn't want to tell me since he would admit that my grandâpa died.
What I truly believe is that his desire toward his children is to appreciate somebody for what they are and not their possessions or status. Just to think
about the idea, it is unimaginable to me. I don't know how people can support each other if they don't enjoy themselves together. The truth is that my
parents married each other due to their love not for anything' else. I don't think my sisters can conclude this from my parents since they're younger than
me. It feels like I am the only one who can comprehend my father's intention. I wish my sisters

Oh, how mistaken my Dad was. I remember him looking down at me, my Dad a towering height of 6'6 and I a height of 3'5, telling me that I wasn't
reading. I remember looking down and getting sad and angry, that I thought I was reading.
When I was younger, I loved to "read". By reading, I mean being read to by my parents every night. One of my parents would lay beside me every
night on my twin sized day bed. I would snuggle underneath my quilted blanket that my grandmother made for me, and get ready for an adventure.
Our two golden retrievers, George, and Baldwin, would be either on or next to my bed, being content with just being near my parents and me. Every
night I would expect a story of adventure. Both of my parents were constantly...show more content...
"I can read The Fourteen Bears, Summer and Winter all by myself!" I said, my smile somehow growing larger. My Dad smiled a bit more and laughed,
"Mimi, you aren't "reading" the book, you just memorized it." He said laughing. I started to get sad and angry, my smile disappearing, and I started to
tear up. My Dad saw my frown and stopped laughing. "Mimi, It's ok if you don't know how to read yet, I know you'll learn," My Dad said with a
smile. I didn't return the smile, as I was still angry that he said that. I was reading! I looked at the words and said what they were! I didn't get what he
was saying!
Over time, something clicked. One night, with my mom sitting next to me, I narrowed my eyes and looked at the words. I looked at them,
remembering what my teachers taught me at Montessori, and I put two and two together. I started reading! It was slow and steady. I couldn't read
some of the bigger words, but I did it! I was reading! My mom was ecstatic and so was my Dad. From that spark, a great fire ignited. My love of
reading grew and I would read almost everyday. At Montessori, as a Kindergartner, I could read better than some of the fourth and fifth graders. I
even tried to teach my little brother how to read by setting a pile of books in front of him, and reading and describing the words. My parents loved it,
and they went out of their way to get me more and more books. When I entered elementary school, my parents bought me over $100

5. My Father : The Hardest Time Of My Life
The hardest time in a person's life is often following the death of a close family member. Death is hard, losing someone you love and see on a daily
basis causes great grief and sorrow. For me that special person I lost was my Dad. My father died when I was twelve and it was no doubt the hardest
time of my life. Our relationship was indescribable I was his little buddy and we went absolutely everywhere together, and when he died it was like
he just disappeared from my life forever. As a young boy you really do not know how to react to such a terrible situation. Neil Ibrahim a father of four
dies young and it's just you and your brother left to carry the family name. Throughout the grieving process one learns who really cares about his or
hers well being and the upbringing of their children without a father, losing your father makes you more responsible and a more humble person
because you are all they left behind.
Family members tend to comfort each other after a tragic loss. Many would comfort us however we soon learned who really cared about us and
who did not. I always say when someone dies you see the family's true colors. Following his death I had many father like figures step up to the
plate but at the end they had their own families and rarely ever contacted me or my brother again. Uncles and aunts who I rarely ever associated with
included me in vacations and sleepovers.Throughout the most difficult time of my life people took me in and raised me as one of their own. For
instance my aunt Margaret and uncle Mark have included me in an infinite amount of family vacations and activities, they really care about me and
want to see me succeed as an individual. Afterall strangers will step in and give you assistance not for their benefit, but for the benefit of yourself.
I label this as the most difficult time of my life because it helped guide me to the person I am today. Before my Dad died I was a more reserved
child, however following the death I turned into a more responsible and humorous guy. For example I learned just how much burden is left on the
man of the house when our Dad died. He made all of the financial decision and when he was gone it was our priority to fulfil the burden. My older

6. Descriptive Essay About My Father
The first time I met him it was a hot, humid day in September with the sun blazing down on all four of us. My sister's face was beaming proudly as
she finally introduced us to her new boyfriend as he stepped around the front of his maroon truck. We stood in the large parking lot next to the
quarter mile, two story school that Lianna and I went to. He was tall, a bit lanky but also muscular. My first impression doesn't give him much
credit to the man he is today, but he gave a firm handshake and pretended not to notice when Lianna and I gave McKenna looks of approval, which
just added to the reasons to shoot McKenna more looks making her blush. It was 10:30 at night and i had decided to get food. It had been a long
day, nothing had seemed to go right. Even the sound of people talking was annoying. I was sinking, drowning, like the Titanic trying frantically to
send telegrams to nearby ships. Dodd must have heard me go downstairs because within a couple minutes he was sitting at the kitchen table asking
me how my day went. Everything I had kept bottled up, that had built up over the last few years, came spilling out. He sat across from me his light
blue eyes distressed and sorrowful. He looked at me intently not missing a word as I complained and asked all the questions on my mind. This time I
saw him not as the man McKenna dated, but as my older brother. The room was chilly, but he didn't seem to mind as he sat there in his dark blue
shorts listening. Dodd's dirty blonde hair

7. My Experiences Of My Father
Where I have come from goes back generations for me, where I am from is based off of what my family has gone through and how they have used
their experience to teach me. Through my family I now understand that where I come from means the way my parents raised me and why. One
very important figure in my life who makes me who I am is my dad. My dad has been through a lot of good and bad times in his life, he has many
experiences some in which I hope to recreate for myself and others I would only hope I would never have to go through. Talking to has given me
specific experiences that when I look back at have really changed me and prove to me where I am from. Another person who has given me

I remember thinking about it for a little while but his answer wasn't enough for me and was not to the point like I expected it to be. I then reiterated
the question to him asking "compared to my life what is yours like". He got awoken by my honest interest and began to tell me about how growing up
he was the only male in the family so at a young age he felt the need to work and make money. This moment has stuck with me all through high
school and learning about how my dad grew up has affected the way he raised me dramatically. Freshmen year my dad had me ask my neighbor
,who was my best friend at the time Pete is his name, if he would be my business partner selling firewood. This was a changing moment in my life,
through firewood I have been able to make many connections with people in the area as well as help me build up my leadership and
communication skills. Whenever I felt like I couldn't do something or felt I was too young I would always think back to that specific moment when
my dad told me how old he was when he started working. Knowing how my dad grew up and lived his life thus far has helped me understand that
where I come from is a very hardworking family who even though never pursued college was able to find success and happiness.
My grandmother has been there for me since I was born, between my dad having cancer and working he didn't have time to be home very often. Since

It was a normal day for me, my parents were working and I was bored and juggling a soccer ball. Our family wasn't very wealthy, and we have to keep
watch of our money and keep working very hard, especially in this heat. We live in central Mexico, so the sun is boiling us all the time. But that didn't
bother me. Every day I go and play soccer at the park with other guys.
We play full on 11V11 games. My father doesn't approve of this though, he says it's a waste of time.
All of a sudden I heard "Josh! Come and eat dinner." I replied with, "Coming, Mom." I sat down and started eating, and we talked about our day and
how was it, but my father said that money was coming down on us and we're in trouble. My mother turned as white as a ghost and she was starting to
think about what we can do.
After dinner I went to sleep knowing in my head that we had financial issues, but I tried not to think about it. So I went to sleep, then all of a
sudden I heard a scream. I quickly raced to the sound of the scream and then what I saw was my father on the ground and not breathing, and all of a
sudden my mind went blank and I only could stare at the corpse of my father. We called the Ambulance they came immediately and they took my
father and me and my mother cold just stare as the ambulance drove away.
The next morning I wake up in a sweat and still thinking about what happened last night. My heart is racing, I stop and start to think about what is my
family going to do. My mom won't

Who is the most influential person in your life? Most of us would say our father, mother and maybe girlfriend or boyfriend. Mine would be no
different. My father has this capacity or power of affecting me without any direct or apparent effort. The most influential person in my life beyond a
shadow of a doubt is my father. There are a lot of people who said a perfect father does not exist. Well, they have never been so wrong. Maybe not all
fathers in the world are perfect but mine definitely is. My father is an exceptional person. I love everything about my old man, the way he speaks, he
behaves and they way he moves are beyond perfection in my eyes. I am immensely proud to have the chance to be his son, I felt like I am this small
present of a great person he is. Now, sit back and let me describe how great my father was so you will know how special he is. My father was 39 years

11. Narrative Essay About My Father
My parents left each other when I was very young, all i remember was not seeing my father for a long time and my mother crying almost every
night for a couple of months. I couldn't figure out what was going on considering I was still very young but I remember how upset I when my
father was nowhere to be found and I was told he was away on vacation. It had been about 6 months and he was still "away". No one understood how
much my father meant to me. Someone who meant so much just being taken away. It was so hard to go to school and walk around town with my
mom and see kids all around holding their dads hand.
It was hard for me as a child because my own family would talk about my father right in front of me. About how bad of a guy he was. I couldn't say
much because they are my family and i would probably get slapped in the back of the head for talking back. I became very shy and kept everything
ot myself. I also became very sensitive. I couldn't speak much about the topic without crying my eyes out. As i grew older I learned I couldn't speak
about it in front of my family because they would just talk bad about my father as well as my friends because they couldn't understand considering
they all had fathers. I couldn't see a therapist because my mother was a single mother trying to feed me and my sister and had no money for that. I

after I was born. My mother would work during the day and my uncle's wife would baby sit me. I was still quite young and all I knew was that my
father moved because he wanted to provide the best he could for his family. I lived in a house where not only my mother and I resided, we shared a
home with four of my cousins, two of my uncles, and their wives. Everything I received at that age came from what my dad sent my mom and the

Growing up in a country where people like my family and I are looked down upon, I have come to view college as a vital piece to my life's puzzle.
My family and I like many others, did not come to this country to try and take away the jobs and educational opportunities of Americans. We came
to this country because in Central America my dad would not have the job opportunity he has now and I would not have a chance to get a degree. At
my age, girls in Honduras are being forced to choose between going to school or living. Here I have been lucky enough to have family, friends, and
teachers who have seen potential in me.
I knew once I entered high school, that there was nothing that would stop me from receiving the education, I felt I deserved. Along the years I
have met others with a situation similar to mine, who never gave and up and were able to attend the college of their choice. Neither of my parents
completed high school and have made so many sacrifices to provide for their family. In 2011, after 11 years my father had the opportunity to see his
family once again. Meanwhile my mother has been in this country for 13 years and has been unable to see her two sons. She had to make the
sacrifice of leaving them behind at a very young age and she, like my father lost the opportunity to see her children grow. Knowing the sacrifices that
both my parents had to make, just to provide an education for me, I am determined to achieve success. My

"The truth is that the life of an individual is not more interesting than the life of a whole nation. And another truth is that not everyone is able to

My father, Ruben Aslanian, was born on April 12 the year 1951 in asmall village of Abkhazia called Mteesoubanee. Abkhazia was part of the Georgia

When my father was here physically I thought all the unimportant things were annoying, but now since he's gone physically I find each and every

The One Week That Will Last a Lifetime Isn 't it funny how fast life can seem to pass by? Often we are so caught up in the daily actions of the
world that we miss certain things in the meantime. As if we all have infinite time to do infinite things with the people that we carry dearly in our

relationship never evolved to the biggest it could be. After graduating high school last year, there was a new sense of commitment in myself however.

Mr. Petro
English 3
September 25th, 2017 June 16th 1964, that's the day my father was born... March 2nd 2010, that's the day my father passed. My dad Elan
Prystowsky, was the most hard working, caring, funny, awesome person in any way shape or form. Most people take death as a very sad time and
as a very serious time. Well, when my father passed I was only ten and my sister was only seven, we didn't know what cancer was, we didn't know
why he came home once a week and we didn't know why his head was all of the sudden bald from "treatment". For a ten year old this is a lot to
process, a lot to understand, and most certainly a lot to cope with. Growing up without a father figure in the house has always been tough but
everyone has to find a way to manage and a way to adapt to new things. Obviously losing my father was not ideal, but it did make me the man who
I am today, everything i do, i try to succeed in it. Especially sports, that's a bond him and I always had. Whether it was driving to a hockey game
down the street at Rizzo Rink, or driving up and down the east coast for baseball, he was always there, every time, anytime, and always. But it wasn't
only me who was affected, of course my mother and little sister as well. I still remember the night he passed, I had my last hockey game of the
season, I scored a nice backhand shot got off the ice and called my dad and told him right away. I remember asking him when he was coming home,
