2. Serbia is our country. We live in
the capital of Serbia, Belgrade.
Literally translated, "Beograd" means
the ''white city".
Belgrade has 1,7 million people.

3. Geography
Serbia is a European country, former
Yugoslav republic. It is in the center of the
Balkans. The south part of Serbia is
very mountainous and the North is flat
(Vojvodina).
Serbia is not the most populated country
but 6,908 million people is something.
Most of the people live in big cities, but
some live in villages.
6. The Waters
The lakes of Serbia are great.
Apart from the littering, of
course.
The most popular ones are:
Đerdap, Vlasinsko jezero,
Perućac, Srebrno jezero.
The biggest rivers are: the
Danube, the Sava, the Tisa, the
Tamiš, the Morava, the Drina...

7. Culture
• Serbia has a great culture. It is a mixture
of Eastern culture in the south and the
Western in the north (Vojvodina).
• We have many monasteries and churches
and also many monuments from the past
wars and famous battles.

8. Food
• We are known for tasty food.
• If you live with your grandma, expect
some "sarma" (cooked cabbage leaves
around a filling).
• "Ajvar" is also popular with grandmas
because it is the perfect winter food.
• And for the pie, we make it with
spinach because of, you guessed it,
grandmas.
• We are fans of "burek"(börek). It is
usually filled with cheese or sometimes
meat. It is popular with us - students.

9. Sports
Serbia is one of the top countries in many sports.
First of all, our tennis player Novak Đoković has been the
world's best for years.
We are also world champions in volleyball.
In football, our team Crvena zvezda (Red Star) won The
World Championship in 1991.
Our basketball team Partizan won the European Cup in
1992.
