1. What were the strengths of your research? My research
helped me choose a song which gave the project a good
rhythm, the song I chose fit with the video footage after
choosing the right one, I was able to base my scenes from the
song and use my research as a guide.
E.g. 1. When others saw it, they said it was put together well,
having a good pace and steady camera angles. I watch various
music videos to learn the pace and shots of music videos; BTS
had many moving and wide shots with their happy fast pace,
Minecraft Hunger Games had a full thought out story with a
medium pace in a short space of time and the camera shots
did well projecting the setting showing the arena and
landscape the characters were in.
2. My research gave me a basis for my scenes to make a full
story which got viewers engaged and made them entertained.
Music videos don’t usually have a visual story, but I still found
some; many Minecraft videos have stories, Minecraft Hunger
Games had a thought out story and action scenes which
moved at a media pace, this made the perfect story basis for
my project.
2) How did your research help your product? I knew the right
song to choose that would fit my video thanks to the
research, I didn’t know what footage I would come up with for
the song originally but the research showed me the perfect
visual side to my video.
E.g. 1. I wanted to make an action music video. But most
songs don’t have good or any action. However Minecraft has a
treasure trove of action adventure songs; Fallen Kingdom was
about a prince killing beasts, Minecraft Hunger Games was
were people kill each other with melee weapons.
2. At first, I didn’t know what I would put in for the viewers
would to see, but the Minecraft songs came to my aid once
again; Fallen Kingdom’s run time was 20 minutes so I could
take inspiration from their many action packed scenes, but
Minecraft Hunger Games provided short simpler scenes that
helped me fit the runtime.

3) What were the weaknesses of your research? I
wasn’t able to find scenes in my research that could
match the runtime of the song, Many songs I found
had swearing in them, The song I chose went on for
too long but was the best one I could find in my
research.
E.g. 1. Music videos don’t have stories (most of the
time), I wasn’t able to find inspirating scenes that
could fit the run time of my project. Minecraft
Hunger Games had long shots which I couldn’t adapt
to a story board.
2. The rules were to not have videos with swearing,
however a lot of song videos on YouTube are rap
(which are full of swearing) so this limited my
options.
3. The music videos we were told to make were
supposed to last 2 minutes. But, because of my
pickiness, I chose a song that lasted three minutes
instead of 2.
4) What could you have done better/improve? I
could’ve found more examples for songs and looked
into them more than my original choice, I should
have done more research one the camera angles and
runtime of music videos.
E.g. 1. I was very much inspired to use Minecraft
Hunger Games and Minecraft Hunger Games alone. I
should have found more examples which would give
opportunities for my project.
2. Even though I’ve had experience in filming, I never
made a music video before. I was inexperienced in
how they were made, I didn’t think to look in more
detail about their type of camera shots and their
awkward.

5) What effect would this have had on
your product? Taking these changes
into account; the shots of my video
wouldn’t be strung out, my video
could’ve been shorter, My actors
would have known more emotion they
could’ve put on.
E.g. 1. My video’s cuts wouldn’t have
been strung out, but the video
would’ve been shorter.
2. My video would’ve been made
shorter by cutting down the footage,
choosing a different song or having a
different plan on the story board.
3. If I told them how to use their faces
the actors would have been more
convincing.

6. PLANNING
1) What were the strengths of your
planning? I was very organised in
the production of my project after
planning my film for weeks on
end, the project was made a lot
quicker and finished thanks to my
planning.
E.g. 1. Having planned for many
weeks I was very organised, this
would make me know exactly what
I need to do.
2. In my past movies I hadn’t
properly planned and production
took forever to finish. But after I
planned, I was able to get
everything made quicker.
2) How did your planning help
your product? I let my actors know
their parts instead of being left in
the darkness about it, the
planning gave me a simpler and
easier idea to make my artistic
vision.
E.g. 1. I’ve had a bad history of
leaving the actors in the dark
about their roles, telling them
properly thanks to my plan lead to
less frustration.
2. My artistic vision of a movie I
want to make is a long complex
production, but with my planning
simplifying it, my artistic vision
was made easier to bring to life.

7. PLANNING
3) What were the weaknesses of
your planning? My story board
didn’t match the timing of the
song, The plan wasn’t prepared
for the disruptive outcomes.
E.g. 1. I was constantly trying to
get enough footage that would
last long, but it didn’t match
the timing.
2. My plan didn’t have
instructions on what to do in
disruptive situations like people
constantly passing.
4) What could you have done
better/improve? I could’ve had
more detailed drawings, I
could’ve made it a digital story
board.
E.g. 1. If I had more detailed
drawings my actors would have
known more of what do in their
part.
2. If I made a digital story board
it would’ve been more easy to
carry around, also it wouldn’t
constantly blow off and get
dirty.
5) What effect would this have
had on your product? The
Instructions would have been
more clear, Making it digital
would’ve been easy to carry
around.
E.g. 1. If the instructions were
more clear, the actors would’ve
played their part better.
2. If it was digital, it couldn’t be
damaged and it would make the
story board easier to follow and
make the production be faster.

8. TIME
MANAGEMENT
1) Did you manage your time well? I was able to get a lot
accomplished in a day, a lot of time was saved for editing.
E.g. 1. Within a day I was able to film the scenes, I followed my plan
and the amount of seconds on it I needed to film each scene for.
Weeks of planning made me use my time well.
2. The filming went quicker than expected (despite for some set
backs), I was able to use the rest of the time editing. I spent a lot of
time editing, but I put the first bunch of footage together to not edit
everything at the last second.
2) Did you complete your project on time or would your products
have improved with additional time? I finished my project on time but
I did feel it was a tight squeeze, If I had additional time I could’ve
improved the scenes of my project.
E.g. 1. My project was finished and distributed on the deadline day, I
felt that the time allotments didn’t have separate times for both
editing and filming. However, I was able to finish it in the nick of time.
2. If I had additional time, I could’ve fixed the scenes that didn’t fit
the time of the song.

9. TIME
MANAGEMENT
3) What would you have done if you
had more time producing work? I
would’ve filmed more scenes, I
would have mad the actors do things
differently.
E.g. 1. If I filmed more scenes, I
could’ve fixed the strung out scenes
and not make the audience bored by
looking at a person who does
nothing but stands for 10 seconds.
2. Some of the actors didn’t have
personality, so I would have made
them act different in the scenes like
the introduction of the characters
with their facial expressions.

Flynn said that
transitions made the
cuts between each
scene “Clunky”. If I did
more creative camera
shots for the end of
each cut or learn how
to properly use the
Premier software, I
could’ve improved the
rhythm between

FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree that lighting should be improved, if I’m
trying to make a setting lighting is very important
otherwise it looks like a god awful product from
those billions of rip of movies. And the problem
which I most regret is the strung out shots. Cuts
that would follow on from the past cuts would’ve
come together well (e.g. Flynn falling over in one
cut and them him landing on the floor in the
second cut), instead I let cuts go on for to long.
What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
The transition I don’t agree with, sure cuts went on
for to long and sometimes quick, but the plot isn’t
long enough to have fancy transitions. A fast pace
plot only has time for cuts, certainly music videos
that are always short. As much as I like transitions,
I didn’t have time for it in this project.

19. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
 What changes would you have made to your project and why based
on your feedback?
 To truly look professional you need to have proper lighting. I would
have filmed in gloomier locations to get the setting across, I would
have also adjust the brightness on the camera to be more dark. And I
would change this because lighting is one of the many essential
things to make a good movie, otherwise you’ll be compared to the rip
off movie corporations.
 Of Corse the major problem is the strung out scenes. I would have
made more scenes to fit the runtime, thanks to that the scenes would
have gone together in a nice sequence. I would have change this
because it’s just boring to watch someone stand for five seconds
while nothing happens, people want to see entertainment not
boredom.
