Students from Blair Mc Pherson's class will participate in a week-long Museum School program at the Royal Alberta Museum in January. During Museum School, students will learn about Alberta's history and natural environment by exploring the museum galleries, interviewing experts, and using the museum as their classroom. They will journal about what they learn each day and create their own museum exhibit to share back at school. Parents are needed as volunteers during the week and there is a minimal cost for transportation. Afterwards, the students will present what they learned at a "Night at the Museum" event in May for their family and community.
University Of Kentucky Libraries In Second Lifebethkraemerky
The University of Kentucky Libraries have had a presence in Second Life since January 2008. Our activities in Second Life have focused primarily on events and exhibits, with our main library build serving as rotating exhibit space and a central meeting and event location for our university’s Second Life island. Library personnel have been active in creating educational content and supporting other users on our campus as they explore educational use of Second Life. This poster will highlight a number of different events and exhibits created or managed by the UK Libraries in Second Life.
In 2012, The Panama Canal Museum (Seminole, FL) closed its doors and donated its entire collection to the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida. Over 15,000 items headed to Gainesville; from canoes to cups, books to busts and everything between. The collection was renamed the Panama Canal Museum Collection (PCMC) and is now managed as an archival collection in Special & Area Studies Collections (SASC). UF received an IMLS grant to manage this transition from museum to archives, creating a model of integration in the process. For three years the PCMC was managed by project staff working in consultation with UF archivists. In 2015 SASC developed a transition plan for managing the collection after the grant, including a processing plan for a sizable unprocessed backlog. One challenge is estimating processing times for artifacts because the archival community does not share information about object processing rates. Another challenge is a highly engaged, high maintenance community of former Canal Zone residents who had donated most of the Museum collection and who are particularly interested in ongoing exhibitions. SASC hired a museum professional to manage these activities and employs interns from the UF Museum Studies program. This is a terrific opportunity for students who might be able to find work in either museum or archives settings after graduation, but it also raises questions about the future of the professions. This session will present challenges and opportunities of this merger between museum and archives, focusing on the very different viewpoints of the museum, library and archives professionals.

He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
