Multimedia combines various media like text, images, video, and sound. It was first used by Bob Goldstein in 1996 and later defined by Tay Vaughan to include these elements. Multimedia can be implemented through graphics in either a linear or non-linear format. Animation is the process of displaying sequences of images to create movement and includes techniques like rotoscoping, live action, anime, puppet animation, clay animation, and cutout animation. Multimedia and animation have many uses including in arts, education, advertising, and scientific research.
