A single family house may often have been considered as a very small pixel within any urban context, but the fact is, on average more than fifty percent of the urban fabric is being shaped by these tiny small pixels. It is well said by Tadao Ando: “The house is the building type that can change society.” Thus, this is how a client, a developer, a builder, an architect, or a designer could or should be responsible and willingly participate in a collective effort to shape a better urban context.

Movies with jaw-dropping architecture
posted Jan 22, 2020, 6:20 AM by John Eilermann
Great architecture
can be found almost
everywhere. On the
streets, in oneʼs
community, in are
far-off places, there
are always structures
that feature mind-
blowing designs. However, there is one place where architecture is
oftentimes taken for granted – movie sets. John Eilermann.
Far too often, production and set design go unnoticed on film, and
maybe itʼs nobodyʼs fault. Often, the focus is on the main characters.
Sometimes, shots of awe-inspiring structures simply breeze by. Be that
as it may, architecture on film deserves a shout out.
Here are some movies that have amazing architecture in them.
The Star Wars
Saga
From the designs
of ships to entire
mechanical moons
(Death Star) to
senate buildings,
the Star Wars saga
is filled with some
of the most
innovative
architectural
design on film. And
throughout the years, people have actually brought many of these
designs to the real world through structures inspired by George Lucasʼ
timeless vision. John Eilermann.
Last Year at Marienbad
On a lot less pop culture note, “Last Year at Marienbad” combines
stunning cinematography and superb artistry to showcase chateau
interiors, parterres, topiaries, and fountains, which were all taken from
some of the most memorable historic European places. John Eilermann.
Dark City
Viewers may want to take a closer look at this superb movie from the
