Connor Southwell is creating print productions and album artwork to promote his artist's career. The images and symbols he has collected from a moodboard, such as a chess board motif and images of nature, could be incorporated into the album cover to continue themes from his music video and reinforce the song's meaning. Experimenting with different typefaces, colors, and aesthetics like minimalism could help distinguish his artist's style and brand within the genre. up some print productions full of symbolism and deep in meaning. The image of my artist could be used as
the central image within my album cover to enhance the brand identity of my artist, which is critical since he
is beginning his career. By using the chess board, it would provide a continuation of the motif explored within
my music video and reinforce the theme of the song about the strategic and complicity of relationships. The
cons of this is the lack of opportunity with the colour wheel . Furthermore, the repeated symbolism could
make it appear less powerful than usage once. The introduction of nature overlaid with a picture of the
couple could add an aesthetic which is unique to further extend the power of the image onto the audience. It
also creates the opportunity to explore the parameters of the colour wheel and by using this I can explore
which colours complement each other to enhance the professionalism of my work. The typefaces I want to
take forward into the creation of my album cover due to them conforming with the conventions of my genre.

3. Albums for inspiration
The album covers graphically displays the conventions of the genre and show
the distinct range from monotonous album covers which use minimalism
and ranges of colour to enhance the cover. Minimalism is distinctively
used in Indie Rock to create an artistic aesthetic and to display the
individuality of the genre with options like indirect address as shown
through the Van William album cover. On the contrary, the colours used in
the collage seen on the far right contrast with the black and white filtered
images. This genre incorporates a range of different styles and colours.
The uniqueness and licence to explore and exploit alternative genres and
pick and choose what to use is inviting from a creative standing.
