This document discusses selling cultural and visual content via mobile apps and mobile browsers. It notes that the mobile sector is already multi-channel and there is increased pressure to generate revenue. An app called Easyart is described that allows users to search artworks, change room sets, and view frame choices. While the Easyart app had over 25,000 downloads, mobile traffic on the company's website generated 52 times more revenue than the app. The document concludes that selling content via mobile browsers has proven potential and leverages existing investments, while apps require new investments and skills and have uncertain customer acquisition costs.
The document outlines a marketing plan for an "Easy LiFi" Android app that allows users to connect to LiFi networks and access the internet using light. The plan includes situational analysis of the growing internet and smartphone user base. Goals are to increase LiFi user adoption to 70% by 2020. The marketing strategy focuses on raising awareness through various online and offline channels, offering trial versions with incentives, and lowering prices over time to encourage purchase. Tactics cover pricing, incentives, distribution and implementation steps like server infrastructure, feedback response, and customer support teams.
1. WhatsApp had over 450 million active users and was growing faster than any other company.
2. Facebook wanted to gain WhatsApp's large and loyal user base.
3. The acquisition helped Facebook expand into mobile messaging and compete with other messaging apps.
4. Mark Zuckerberg believed gaining WhatsApp's users was important for Facebook's future growth and success in mobile.
Challenges in building a mobile apps platformAvi Wortzel
This document discusses the challenges of building a platform for mobile apps. It covers the lifecycle of mobile apps, differences in look and feel across platforms, challenges in the mobile market like device fragmentation, and how to approach mobile monetization and distribution effectively. The key challenges mentioned are optimizing the app experience for each platform and simplifying the app submission process to various mobile markets. Effective monetization strategies include leveraging each platform's opportunities and considering different models across platforms. Distribution is best approached by facilitating natural growth through social channels, online campaigns, local marketing and word-of-mouth from friends.
The document discusses both opportunities and challenges with mobile apps. It notes that while the smartphone sector is growing rapidly with over 3 billion devices in use, the app market is also highly fragmented across different platforms and operating systems. It warns against simply rushing to develop apps without a clear strategy to avoid getting trapped in a difficult market. It recommends integrating apps into existing workflows, budgeting for updates, and recruiting talent to develop apps as an alternative is to focus on mobile web technologies that allow cross-platform development.
This document discusses trends in mobile search and devices. It notes that US smartphone penetration reached 46% in 2012 and mobile searches are growing rapidly. The top mobile devices in 2012 were iPhones, Android phones, and BlackBerry devices. By 2015, there will be more local mobile searches than desktop searches in the US. The document also compares building a mobile-optimized website versus a native app, noting pros and cons of each approach. It emphasizes having a mobile strategy and understanding which devices your audience uses.
This document discusses how mobile apps are better for brands than mobile ads. It notes that consumers spend most of their mobile time on apps, not websites. A survey found that consumers devote 82% of their time to apps. The document then discusses the advantages of brand apps, including adding convenience for customers, offering unique value, providing social value, and offering incentives. It provides examples of successful brand apps like Jio, Airtel, Jabong, Ola, and Paytm that have many features and incentives to encourage regular usage and build customer loyalty over time compared to ads.
The document provides tips for mobile app developers to engage users over time after an initial download rather than having users only use the app once. It recommends that developers focus on the business concept, user engagement and experience, and building on the app's features through dynamic content, gamification, social integration, discounts and offers. The goal is to turn one-time users into loyal long-term users by maintaining their engagement over time.

Setting AMP for Success at #DigitalOlympus Aleyda Solís
This document discusses implementing Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) to improve mobile search visibility and user experience. It recommends verifying content compatibility, creating valid AMP HTML, customizing styling and components, testing pages, tracking analytics, and monitoring for errors. Implementing AMP is suggested for media sites, blogs, and sites with slow mobile pages, as long as a consistent mobile experience can be provided without an independent mobile site version.
We looked at the data. Here’s a breakdown of some key statistics about the nation’s incoming presidents’ addresses, how long they spoke, how well, and more.
The document discusses how startup entrepreneurs think and operate. It notes that startups like Airbnb and Uber were started due to identifying shortages or problems. It emphasizes that startups focus on providing customer benefit, eliminating waste, and creating value. It also highlights that startups operate with speed, embracing failure fast and pivoting quickly, with transparency and by breaking rules. Startups succeed by moving rapidly, with minimal processes and instead prioritizing speed above all else.
The State of Sales & Marketing at the 50 Fastest-Growing B2B CompaniesMattermark
There’s a lot of information out there for sales and marketing professionals. In fact, as our friend Erik Devaney at Drift.com points out, a quick search of the term “sales and marketing advice” yields more than 90 million results on Google.
What’s more, there are tons of industry influencers who, on a regular basis, share their views on everything from content marketing and sales, to pricing and customer success. It’s a noisy conversation, and for many, a confusing one.
So, how do you make sense of it all?
By focusing on the sales and marketing efforts that actually produce results, not flash-in-the-pan engagement. But finding those results is a little challenging. That’s why we decided to put together our latest report with Drift.com, The State of Sales and Marketing at the 50 Fastest-Growing B2B Companies.
Using Mattermark data, we were able to identify the fifty high-growth companies in the U.S. and evaluate their marketing activities to understand which practices really moved the needle. In order to make the qualitative portion of our research more tangible, we evaluated each company on the list in light of how they approached content, customer communication, path to purchase, and pricing.
What we and the team at Drift.com discovered was surprising, to say the least.

A number of websites and apps that can be used for emoji-related activities, lessons, and discussions are also listed.
What does the future look like? Is it a dark space where we’re suffering from varying degrees of techamphetamine or are we heading towards a Utopian fantasy of abundance and harmony?
Understanding that our basic human needs and wants barely change, we explore the future state of a range of topics; from our need for physical sustenance through to our age-long fascination of transcending the limitations of our biology.
Looking at the future from a human perspective, our potential for greatness is teetering on a fine line between darkness and hope. We’re banking on the latter.
WTF - Why the Future Is Up to Us - pptx versionTim O'Reilly
This is the talk I gave January 12, 2017 at the G20/OECD Conference on the Digital Future in Berlin. I talk about fitness landscapes as applied to technology and business, the role of unchecked financialization in the state of our politics and economy, and why technology really wants to create jobs, not destroy them. (There is a separate PDF version, but some readers said the notes were too fuzzy to read.)
Study: The Future of VR, AR and Self-Driving CarsLinkedIn
We asked LinkedIn members worldwide about their levels of interest in the latest wave of technology: whether they’re using wearables, and whether they intend to buy self-driving cars and VR headsets as they become available. We asked them too about their attitudes to technology and to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the devices that they use. The answers were fascinating – and in many cases, surprising.
This SlideShare explores the full results of this study, including detailed market-by-market breakdowns of intention levels for each technology – and how attitudes change with age, location and seniority level. If you’re marketing a tech brand – or planning to use VR and wearables to reach a professional audience – then these are insights you won’t want to miss.
