Panel A Audio& Video Panel -1
A
• The Audio& Video panel enables
participation in conversationseither
(a) using a microphoneand
speakers/headset or (b) via
teleconference.
• You can also transmit and receive
videos during a session and preview
a video before transmitting it.

• The ParticipantsPanel providesinformation about all
participantsin a session.
• You can (a) view other user profiles and edit your own, (b)
see what featuresothers are currently using, and (c) see
what permissions you and others have.
• The ParticipantsPanel also providestools to facilitate
interactionsamong participants. You can:
(a) use emoticons;
(b) raise your hand;
(c) indicateyou havestepped awayfrom thesession;
(d) send a privatechat message; and
(e) respond to polls.

*NOTE: Audio and Video permissions are “On” for all
participants by default. You as a Moderator need to turn
“OFF” to reduce background noise in a Collaborate
session.

The Chat Panel enables you to

participantsin a session.

Room Tab (1) vs. Moderators Tab (2)
Room Tab is a public chatting room that can be seen by all users, while
ModeratorsTab is only shared by the moderatorswhich is used under a
co-teaching situation. In addition,if thereare any privatechats, thosetabs
will be shown on theright side of the ModeratorsTab.

• The Content Window is the main
presentation window that
moderatorsuse to share content.
• By default, the“Whiteboard” is
displayed when a BB Collaborate
session opens. The Whiteboard's
editing tools areavailabletoall
participants.

(open) programs on your computer
with this feature, such as Microsoft
Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
etc.), Internet Browser screens,
Video Programs (YouTube),
Dropbox, etc. You can use this tool
to demonstrate during a session.

Web Tour (1):
The Web Tour featureenables session participantstoshareweb pages
with others in the session.

Other Tools:
1. Get Information:You can get information (such as connection speed,
signal strength, encryption and session time) about your session
connection through theInformation menu in the Collaboration toolbar. (1)
This menu also gives you access to theTimer dialog. (2)

2. Load Content
The following types of files can be loaded as
Whiteboard pages:
• Image Files: .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg and .png
files
• Whiteboard Files: .wbd files
• Protected Whiteboard Files: .wbp files
• PowerPoint and OpenOffice.org files
* Quiz (.vcq) files will be loaded into the Quiz
Manager
* Session Plan (.elp & .elpx) files will be loaded
into the Session Plan Library.

* Notes (.eln) files will be loaded intothe
Notes Window.
* Multimedia (.mp3, .wmv, .mpeg,.mpeg4,
QuickTime and Flash) files will be
loaded intothe Multimedia Library.
*NOTE: If the file type is not associated with a
module, it will be loaded into the File Transfer
Library, which supports all file types. (The number
of files you can load is dependent upon the size of
the files. The default total file size is 10 MB.)

Click the “Record” button (1) to start (2) or stop (3) recording.

Panel Option 1 By default, audio, video, chat, and whiteboardare“ON” for all
participants. Thus, you maywant tocontrol these permissions
in advance.
Panel Option 2 By default, Application Sharing, Web Tour, and Closed-
Captioning are“OFF” for all participantsexcept moderators.
