This document discusses observational learning, which is learning by observing others. It notes that humans are highly adept at imitating others through observational learning, spreading trends, behaviors, and ideas. The process of imitating specific behaviors is called modeling. Research by Albert Bandura showed that children who observe violent behaviors are more likely to exhibit violence when frustrated. Observational learning can steer children toward pro-social or anti-social behaviors depending on what they observe, but does not necessarily cause those behaviors on its own.
