This document discusses TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge), which identifies the different knowledge areas teachers must have to teach effectively. It includes technological knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and content knowledge. These areas overlap. The document discusses how the author's understanding of their own TPACK has grown through the course, with an expanded understanding of how to use technology for teaching. The author believes learning about TPACK will help them as a teacher by allowing them to effectively integrate technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge.

TPACK stands for technological pedagogical content knowledge, and is what all teachers are supposed to work towards in the classroom. When broken down, content knowledge means knowing the necessary information in a particular subject, pedagogical knowledge means knowing how to teach this information to students, and technological knowledge means knowing how to effectively incorporate technology into a lesson plan.
It is important for every teacher to understand the concepts of TPACK, because our world is becoming more and more technologically advanced. Students are used to having technology in their daily lives and the constant stimulation they provide. For this reason, it would be unwise for a teacher to completely ignore technology or leave it out of the classroom. Technology is becoming an imperative aspect of classroom learning. However, technology must be used wisely and purposefully. It should only be incorporated into a lesson plan if it will enhance the students’ learning.
This leads to an important aspect of TPACK: it is not only about technology. First and foremost, a teacher should know the subject they are teaching and how to teach it. Technology does not replace pedagogical or content knowledge, but rather adds another dimension to it. Arguably, the most effective teachers will be the ones that understand and use the concepts of TPACK in the classroom. I, as a future teacher, have a responsibility to my students and my school to be that effective teacher, who knows how to provide students with an excellent education in the 21st century.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1. M U L T I M E D I A R E F L E C T I O N
Module 12
2. What is TPACK?
TPACK stands for Technological, pedagogical and
content knowledge
It identifies the different knowledge areas that
teachers must have in order to teach
These knowledge areas overlap
Each persons TPACK is different
All teachers have TPACK even if they are not aware
of what it is; it is how they teach, and what they
know
3. The Knowledge Areas
Technological Knowledge
How well teachers are able to use and understand technology
Pedagogical Knowledge
How a teacher teaches their students
Content Knowledge
How well a teacher knows the content that they are teaching
4. My TPACK
During this semester my
TPACK diagram has
changed quite significantly.
When I first started this
course I had an
understanding of
technology as I use it every
day, however I now
understand how to use it in
teaching a lot more. I have
expanded my
Technological Pedagogical
(TPK) knowledge
drastically this semester.
This was my TPACK
diagram from module 5.
Since I made this my TPK
has expanded further.
5. What I have learned
Through this course I have learned how to use
technology, but also how to use technology in
relation to teaching. This is why my own TPACK
diagram has changed so much thought the semester.
6. My TPACK
As you can tell, even since
module 5 my understanding of
my own TPACK has changed. I
now have a greater
understanding of how the
different knowledge areas
overlap, and how that effects
me as a pre-service teacher. I
have gained a lot of knowledge
regarding technology in this
course, and I have learned how
to relate it to teaching the
content that I know, and tying
it into my own teaching
pedagogy.
7. How will this impact me as a teacher?
Learning about TPACK and understanding how
technology knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and
content knowledge are all interrelated will help me
as a teacher as I will have a greater understanding of
how to use them all to help my students.
Understanding how to use all the knowledge areas
will allow me to use them all to teach my students to
the best of my ability, while using different
technology to teach the content.
