2. Innovative Classrooms
Innovative classroom ideas came from Don Wettrick and Sam Sakai-Miller.
In innovative classrooms students are encouraged to use fresh approaches to
solve real world problems using the resources they are given and figuring out work

Innovative classrooms require real understanding of the needs of the students.
Innovative classrooms promote leadership skills and networking skills.
The factory model is all but extinct in the job market and innovative classrooms
strive to prepare students for the jobs of the future.
3. Motivation
Mr. Pink gave a talk on motivation as a TED talk in 2009.
In it he explained that science knows what business should be doing.
He explained that science has found that incentives and critical thinking are
negatively correlated.
People need to feel like they are autonomous or have control over their lives, be
able to obtain mastery over the skills they use in class, and have a purpose in
their work or be working for something larger.
4. Discovery Learning
Discovery learning is inquiry-based and involves learners drawing on:
their own past experience
existing knowledge
Relationships

discover facts
learn new truths
solving situations that require all of these things
