4. What is Voodoo? Voodoo is the worship of two main gods: God Olorun (the main god worshiped) and Obtala (the god who created earth and all life, though many cultures worshipping the voodoo religion no longer recognize him as a god in their religion. Then there are also several minor spirits worshipped in the religion: -Agwe- Spirit of the Sea -Ayza- The protector -Dambala- The serpent spirit -And several others
5. Rituals are usually performed in what is known as a Vodun temple involving feasts, ritualistic cleansings by priests of the religion, ceremonial dancing, and occasionally animal sacrifices.

According to Brian Handwerk with National Geographic News, “The mere word conjures images of bloody animal sacrifices, evil zombies, dolls stuck with pins, and dancers gyrating through the hot night to the rhythm of drums. But Voodoo is not some kind of dark mystical force, it is simply a legitimate religion.”
9. From Hocus Pocus to Official Religion??? Today in countries such as Haiti and Benin, Voodoo is an official religion.
