The memorandum of agreement is between the Sangguniang Kabataan of Malayo Sur, Cortes, Bohol and the Local Basketball Referees. It outlines their agreement to hold a basketball tournament for youth development. The SK will provide the venue, funds of PHP 35,000 for referee and official honorariums, technical assistance and security. The referees will conduct the tournament according to the rules and ensure its smooth operation. The tournament aims to develop law-abiding skills and sportsmanship among the youth.

1. MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
This MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) entered and executed by and between.
The SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN OF MALAYO SUR, CORTES, BOHOL, represented by SK
Chairman RUEL C. SINON, hereinafter referred to as SK,
And
The Local Basketball Referees represented by ADOLFO P. GIPAYA AND RENATO Y. TICONG
WITNESSETH
“WHEREAS, The SangguniangKabataan of Malayo Sur, Cortes, Bohol as mandated by Law, value the
development of the youth in the field of Sports to enable to become law-abiding citizens as well as enhance
their skills in sports;
“WHEREAS, The Local Referees has the Technical knowhow and track record to assist the LGU in the
field of Sports Development especially among the youth;
“NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing, the Parties agreed, as they hereby
agree, to undertake their respective role as provided hereunder;
A. SangguniangKabataan of Malayo Sur, Cortes, Bohol
1) Provide the venue for the holding of the Basketball Tournament as well as its illumination when
games are conducted during night time.
2) Appropriate and Release funds to defray the expense of the league, as follows:
Honorarium for Referees: P 30,000.00
Honorarium for Table Officials: P 5, 000.00
Total -------------------------------------- P 35, 000.00
3) Provide Technical assistance in the Operation and Management of the conference.
4) Provide Barangay Police Assistance.
5) Monitor the Operation of the Tournament to ensure full implementation of the Terms and
Conditions of this Agreement.
B. Local Referees
1) Responsible for the conduct of the Basketball Tournament and ensure its smooth Operations
until the end of the conference.
2) Responsible for setting up of rules and regulations made by the Barangay Sports Committee.
This Agreement shall take effect upon its signing by the Parties and shall remain in full force until all
undertakings of this AGREEMENT has been faithfully complied with.

Objectives:

Rationale:
We are now in a new generation, a generation that mostly affects the individuals. New high tech
gadgets that makes a work more simple and easy to be done, a high speed internet connection into a
Computer and now even more in modern Cell phones that let everyone connect to a multiple of persons
around the world. But In this type of things, the Youth may be more prone to such things that are not good for
them if they will not be guided, aside from that is that they may learn to do bad things that may apply into
their daily life. This is just a thing that we can noticed in our life today, we cannot hide this because we all
know that the fact is everyone are engaged in this situation even the young students. The essences of the
Sports Activities are now being eliminated in the mind of the Youth.
Nowadays, lots of changes happen in each of our lives, especially from the Youth. The Youth today are
now more productive, serious yet aggressive in such thing that gives enjoyment from them. That’s why mostly
Youth are engaging into such addictive drugs, influence in liquor, crimes, and the worst part is the unwanted
pregnancy or unprepared to become a young parents.
We can noticed such that things in our generation today and this will not be simple to resolved by the
Government, and if there’s no further action in this type of problem then this happenings will be pass from
generation to generation and become more complicated. That’s why the SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) exists
due to this type of problem since a good young leader of the new generation can heal and can understand the
needs and problem of a youth.
Therefore, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Malayo Sur is aware of this type of problem, that’s
why we have decided to conduct an Inter-Purok Basketball Tournament for the purpose of engaging the time
of the youth in the field of sports instead of wasting their time into a bad influence. We also acquire this
Activity in order to spread the good influence in this type of Activity like Teamwork that enables them to trust
with each others, Challenges that enables them to pursue with hope in their mind and heart, a Law-abiding
Citizens that enables them to follow the Rules and Regulations, Sportsmanship that enables them to accept
failures as they continue showing their nice gratitude to the winners and most of all is to become a God
Fearing Person with trust and love of God Almighty.
