MnKhan Architects was commissioned to program, design and oversee construction management of a
natatorium building for a private school. The facility will include a full size lap pool for older children
and a kiddie pool for younger children. A curved ceder plank ceiling with clerestory lighting all around
will create a warm inviting entrance to the building and to the party area overlooking the main deck.
There will be terraces with kids splash play accessible by large french doors right outside the main
pool deck allowing the parties to extend outdoor. The mechanical and plumbing and electrical of the
building has be carefully designed to reduce the humidity level inside the building while maintaining
warmer water temperature for the younger kids during colder seasons.

Rollaround Skate, an upscale roller rink is at the schematic design phase. The interior of the building
will have two hard wood sports floor rinks, a full size adult rink with stage, back stage/ storage and DJ
booth and a desperate kids rink. There will be wide walkways and ample sitting space around the rink.
The entrance vestibule will have some waiting area. Right after the check in, there will be skate rental,
lockers and retail area. The lounge and full bar with large windows overlooking the rink will be a
relaxing place for the adults while kids take their skating classes. Between the two rinks, there will be
rows of tables for open party and concession stands. Kids soft play. 4 private party rooms and bank of
restrooms will be tucked behind the kids rink. An exit next to the kinds rink and party rooms going out
to the covered drop off pick up lane will provide easy access to party areas.

The luxury spa strives to refresh and rejuvenate tired travelers after a long flight at a major
international Airport. With the rich dark natural wood finishes, comfortable furnishing, tranquil soft
music, the spa will be a getaway from the bight terminal lights. A place to relax sore neck or back in
between tight air-crafts, full body works, getting the hair or nail done while waiting, or simply take a
refreshing shower or get the organic skin or hair care product. The space flows from the retail area
offing complementary drinks transitioning though the semi transparent decorative panel to the semi
private massage area to the private massage rooms at the back end of the space. This will be the only
facility with shower access for passengers who do not plan on going to a hotel. Carefully selected
green material, LED lighting and low flow plumbing fixtures will create an environment friendly space
with low energy use.

Multifamily and Retail with Multistory Garage Parking Downtown Dallas, TX Square footage

We were hired by a Dallas based hotel developer to do a conceptual design of a mixed use
development across the parking lot of Dallas City Hall. It was challenging to solve the retail, parking
garage, and apartments stacked on top of another. We provided them the most revenue generating
solution while keeping in mind the orientation, light and view to the 128 unit apartments. The building
contained 20,000 sqft retail and 130 space garage parking. The roof terrace is designed to be the
center of outdoor activities with a large lap pool and a secure play area for the children in the building.
Common facilities are at the front corner of the building which will include a club house, party area and
business centers with a gorgeous view of downtown Dallas. When built, we believe this building would
play a significant role in
the revitalization of
Downtown Dallas.
