With the Architect of Record, Cetra/Ruddy, located in New York City, DS design Architects in
association with BKA provided construction administration services throughout the construction phase
of this mixed use retail and residential development. With 190 Condominiums and 290 Rental units and
a 530 parking garage on two levels under a one acre landscaped park, DS design Architects regularly
visited the site to identify and address construction issues quickly and efficiently.

6. THIRD SQUARE APARTMENTS - AMENITIES
Cambridge, Massachusetts
DS design Architects in association with BKA provided Architectural and Interior services for the
South Building amenities. DS design Architects worked together with Equity Residential to develop a
full program for all elements of the program. The program of spaces included a Club Room, Game
Room, Conference Center, Laundry Facilities, and a Kid’s Gym. The total square of the program was
5,000 on the ground level of the building.

7. THIRD SQUARE APARTMENTS - LEASING CENTER
Cambridge, Massachusetts
DS design Architects in association with BKA was contracted to provide Architectural and Interior
services for the relocation of the Leasing Center to the South Building. DS design Architects worked
together with Equity Residential to develop a full scope for all elements within the program. The pro-
gram of spaces included a Offices, Waiting Area, Reception Zone, Open Office space, Kitchen, Bath-
room, and Storage. The total square of the program was 4,000 on the ground level of the building.

8. 209 CENTRE STREET - MIXED USE
Abington, Massachusetts
In developing the design for this mixed use retail and housing development located on a Smart
Growth site adjacent to commuter train, DS design Architects recognized the needs of the
different users. Separate entrances for the residential and retail tenants were incorporated into
the plan. The four story building has five retail tenant spaces on the first floor and two levels of
apartments spanning the remaining floors. Underground parking is available for the residential
units.

9. QUEST POND — SENIOR HOUSING
Easton, Massachusetts
This 99 unit Congregate Care facility was designed to meet the needs of the residents as well as
create the feeling of a being in a well-designed home. An important criteria the design of the facility
needed to meet was that it be able to expand as the needs of the tenants developed. To meet this
goal, the building was designed with four wings. Each wing has common areas in order to facilitate
social interaction between the residents.

10. KIMBALL TOWERS — MULTI-FAMILY
Burlington, Massachusetts
The development of this new, 256 unit, high-end rental apartment complex was an expansion of an
existing residential development. This comprehensive project was developed within a constricted site
area that allowed access only from the Woburn side. The project is sited on the Burlington/Woburn
town line. The use of brick faced precast panels allowed the building to tie into the adjacent buildings
without the expense of traditional masonry costs. Each of the two, ten story buildings has 128 units.
To provide sufficient parking capacity to the residents, a five-story parking garage, located between the
buildings, provides 340 parking spaces. The size of the units range from 700 S.F. to 2,200 S.F. The
complex has concierge services available to the tenants, and the lobby’s were designed to foster the
feeling of being in a hotel.

13. GREATER WORCESTER YMCA — Boroughs Branch
Westborough, Massachusetts
In designing the new Boroughs Family Branch of the Greater Worcester YMCA, the use of structural
expression and visual access between the different program elements were the drivers underlying the
design solutions that were developed. The full service facility included a natatorium, a wellness center,
a childcare center, multi-purpose rooms and executive offices.

16. RIDGEWOOD CROSSING — 55 + HOUSING
Hingham, Massachusetts
This active 55+ development was designed to provide the privacy of a single-family home with the con-
venience of a condominium. Abutting park and conservation lands, the homes in the development have
five distinctive yet complimentary styles and range in size from 1,865 S.F. to 2,600 S.F. All homes fea-
ture a first floor master bedroom and bath, an open kitchen, a vaulted great room with gas fireplace, a
guest bedroom, a loft/den and two car garage. The development has a total of 31 units with 60% of the
39 acre site preserved as open space.

Forbes Park is a true GREEN project, with use of sustainable materials and natural ventilation strategies.

In developing a master plan for this eight building apartment complex to be located on a site with a pond.
DS design Architects was able to establish whether or not the proposed project was feasible. The master
plan calls for the pond to become the central feature of the development. The 4 and 5-story apartment
buildings are situated around the pond in a manner that allows as many of the 418 units as possible to
have a view of the water. A clubhouse with an outdoor pool is also located in this area.

While at BKA Architects, the development of the new corporate headquarters for The Community Bank
in Brockton, Massachusetts. Complete professional services, from preliminary design through post
construction evaluation. The building contains corporate offices, a branch bank, storage, fitness center,
and future growth / tenant space. The project involved an aggressive schedule due to the Y2K situation.
One of the buildings many challenges was the designing of the waterproofing system, due to a basement
within the water table.
