We can conclude that static mixers can be used for
blending powders of different characteristics as well as the
commonly used Ribbon mixer or even as Tubular mixing
devices which are used in pharmaceutical industry for very
fine powders, especially if one component of the mixture is in
a great surplus. Modelling of the fundamental mechanisms that
can be applied in the design of a mixing process considering
the particle motion can help define the final product and the
process of mixing itself, especially when dealing with devices
that are not commonly used for blending powdered and
particulate matters.
