In today’s modern life, engineering design is the basis of just about everything we see and touch. It is easy to see the designing behind cars, air planes, television, etc. On the other side, not many people realize that there is engineering designing process behind the road in front of your house, the bridge that we cross, the structure in our office buildings and the systems that create the comfort in our work environment. So designing means continuously changing the geometry of the model and makes it suitable at every place. As for engineering students of Mechanical, Civil and Electrical fields there are many designing software available for enhancing their employability and technical skills. However, whenever we ask from someone senior about which designing software is good for us as a beginner? They replied to AutoCAD. Well they all are right as AutoCAD is one of the widely used software around the world by manufacturing, construction and designing industries. AutoCAD often referred to as Father of Designing and Drafting software. The distinct feature of this software is way it functions, ease to understand and very much friendly to user. AutoCAD has reduced the time engineers must spend making manual drawings. Learning this software not only makes you good designer but also generates curiosity to learn more. AutoCAD allows the user to understand all the basic aspects of designing whether it is 2D, 3D or Isometric modeling which will be very helpful in going to advanced courses. The software enables users to create documentation for their design. This is a major benefit to taking AutoCAD classes and learning how this documentation is developed, helping others understand what is involved in the design with ease.

"Based on the successful construction of a sustainable water reuse (purple pipe) project, this class breaks down the steps for managing large diameter (20 inch +) waterlines on major (5+ miles) projects. We show the basics for modeling existing utilities, managing updates to utility models based on test pit data, and pulling from the AutoCAD® Civil 3D® road design toolset to develop waterline models. As we begin to dive into the pressure pipe tools of Civil 3D 2014, we discuss the transition to those new features. Next, we show you how to market the process of design on infrastructure projects, so as to show the 3D elements of what's still delivered as 2D paper plans. With expansive projects, the use of InfraWorks™ software has provided a great set of tools for quickly compiling data from multiple sources into a single location and present visualizations based on active design files to clients and the community." - AutoDesk 2013 Website (http://goo.gl/tBDDEu)
This document describes an Automated Foundation Engineering System (AFES) that aims to automate and streamline the foundation design process. It discusses how foundation design currently involves complex, repetitive work done across multiple programs. AFES integrates various design steps and allows automatic transfer of data between programs to simplify the process. The key benefits outlined are significant improvements in productivity through reduced design time, improved quality, and standardized outputs like reports, drawings and 3D models. A demo of AFES importing data from STAAD.Pro and automatically generating foundation designs, reports and drawings is also provided. Future enhancements discussed include integrating additional analysis programs and expanding foundation type coverage.
FINE FIRE software belongs to the 4M BIM Suite of software for Architecture & Engineering. It provides a holistic BIM approach for the design of any kind of sprinkler installation (tree, looped, gridded etc) through a sophisticated simulation environment, which specifies precisely the fire network installation in compliance with the latest Standards.
It is very crucial that enables the automated calculation for all the widely known standards such as EN 12845, NFPA 13, FM GLOBAL, CEA 4001, AS 2118, BS 9251 and others. Through the hydraulic simulation FineFIRE calculates automatically all the required results, such as the favorable and unfavorable groups, the four sprinklers under consideration in each case and all the receptor groups in detail, as well as the fire pump set, the NPSH and the water tank. Moreover, latest version enables collision analysis throught clash detection command as well as High quality fast rendering function. Despite its high parameterization, FineFIRE remains user friendly, offering an acad-like interface and feel, while ensuring at the same time full DWG and IFC compatibilities in order to enhance the collaboration between different users with respect to other BIM software solutions.

This document summarizes the benefits of intelligent P&IDs and 3D modeling compared to conventional CAD drafting. Intelligent P&IDs capture and organize project data in a single database, allowing for single data entry and association of engineering documents. 3D modeling enables visualization, interference detection, stress analysis and eliminates costly physical models. Both methods generate standard AutoCAD and MicroStation files and provide benefits over conventional drafting throughout the design, construction, and coordination process.

"NATO Hackathon Winner: AI-Powered Drug Search", Taras KlobaFwdays
This is a session that details how PostgreSQL's features and Azure AI Services can be effectively used to significantly enhance the search functionality in any application.
In this session, we'll share insights on how we used PostgreSQL to facilitate precise searches across multiple fields in our mobile application. The techniques include using LIKE and ILIKE operators and integrating a trigram-based search to handle potential misspellings, thereby increasing the search accuracy.
We'll also discuss how the azure_ai extension on PostgreSQL databases in Azure and Azure AI Services were utilized to create vectors from user input, a feature beneficial when users wish to find specific items based on text prompts. While our application's case study involves a drug search, the techniques and principles shared in this session can be adapted to improve search functionality in a wide range of applications. Join us to learn how PostgreSQL and Azure AI can be harnessed to enhance your application's search capability.

Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity serverAntonios Katsarakis
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

Connector Corner: Seamlessly power UiPath Apps, GenAI with prebuilt connectorsDianaGray10
Join us to learn how UiPath Apps can directly and easily interact with prebuilt connectors via Integration Service--including Salesforce, ServiceNow, Open GenAI, and more.
The best part is you can achieve this without building a custom workflow! Say goodbye to the hassle of using separate automations to call APIs. By seamlessly integrating within App Studio, you can now easily streamline your workflow, while gaining direct access to our Connector Catalog of popular applications.
We’ll discuss and demo the benefits of UiPath Apps and connectors including:
Creating a compelling user experience for any software, without the limitations of APIs.
Accelerating the app creation process, saving time and effort
Enjoying high-performance CRUD (create, read, update, delete) operations, for
seamless data management.
