associate with as they have grown up with the Toy Story
films.
Jeans: They’re comfortable, loose, boot cut jeans
therefore allow you freedom to move as well as not
getting too hot inside them as well as looking
presentable as well as fashionable at the same time.
They are a darker colour, contrasting with the shoes and
t-shirt worn, emphasising them more as they are most
probably more interesting.
Shoes: The shoes that have earlier been used in the
shoot represents the continuity of the shoot.

them to represent the simplistic look of the model.

6. Shopping Bag: Originally I used this to carry my MIDI
controller to school in, although I decided that it would
be a good prop to display that the artist is still a normal
person, and despite releasing albums and having
worldwide recognition, he can still shop at Tesco and is
still an ordinary person no different to you, just with a
different job.

7. Watch:
The watch is a ‘must-have’ accessory for any large artist
as it symbolizes wealth, status but also the individuals
taste. In this case, the watch is simple and authentic
looking, which suggests that the artist is not a show off
and instead prefers to lead a simple life.
Wristband:
The cancer research wristband for a charity reflects how
the artist has a caring personality, and cares about
others. This is unusual in a lot of magazines were artists
are money hungry and selfish. This wristband also
contains the slogan “Live strong” which also highlights
the characteristics and personality of the artist.

8. Headphones: I used the ‘Beats by Dr. Dre’ studio
headphones as they display in the name they are used in
studios, therefore must have professional, high quality
sound, also emphasised by the price tag on them. As they
are used by professionals for performance and in studios I
thought I would use them to give my magazine the feel that

Clothing: I decided to use a chequered shirt with elbow and
shoulder pads as these are both styles that are in fashion at
the moment in the indie genre. The shirt is also unusual and
therefore goes hand in hand with the indie genre where
artists try to stand out from the crowd and be their own
person. This formal dress of the chino’s adds not only style
but simplicity from the plain colour of them. Finally, the boat
shoes are also stereotypical of the genre and keeps
addressing the style that is commonly seen in indie
magazines. This dress code was essential so that the
audience could instantly recognize what genre of magazine
this model is from without seeing the masthead.

9. Jumper:
The printed jumper reinforces the individual
style of the artist because yet again, these
types of jumpers are currently in fashion in
the indie genre. The Harlem Globetrotters
also reflects that the model is slightly ‘flash’
and shows-off because these are the common
thoughts that we have when we think of the
Harlem Globetrotters. Finally, the pose of the
man on the jumper is recreating the shape of
the statue of liberty. This symbolizes that the
artist is iconic and known world-wide because
this is the common ideology with the statue
of liberty.
