Cranberries are an evergreen shrub whose berries are mostly processed into juice, sauce, and dried cranberries. The most common varieties are large/American cranberries and lingonberries in Europe. Cranberries are harvested in fall when ripe and red, then stored between 2-5°C to preserve quality for up to 4 months through proper handling and preventing decay.
One Teacher Saves her School & her Students
Ruth Jones, a Christian teacher without a master's degree or administrative experience, was unexpectedly named principal of a struggling inner city elementary school in Grand Rapids, Michigan that was on the verge of closure due to poor academic performance. Through prayer, addressing students' practical needs, and recruiting volunteers, Jones led a dramatic turnaround of the school over 20 years. - 3. DRAWING • Students were asked to draw based on the question provided. • What does a cell look like? • What is its shape and size? • Is it soft or hard? • What is inside the cell?
- 4. RESPONSES QUESTIONS STUDENT’S RESPONSE What does a cell look like? “It is 2-D circle” “It (plant cell) is flat”. used adjectives like “rectangular”, “circular” and “oval”. the cell is round. Is it soft or hard? “The cells under our skin are soft”. What is inside the cell? “The cells protect us from hurting the bones” Drew an outline of a hand filled with cells.
- 5. CLASS DISCUSSION • Done after the drawing method. • The students were asked about the shape of cell and its thickness. • The thickness is shown by using papers and pancakes.
- 6. 3D MODELS • The students were exposed to the concept of cells as a 3D object. • Then they were asked to make a cell model. • While they make the model, the teaching continue and its influence the shape of their models.
