Ranbaxy used legacy systems like Tally and MRP before implementing SAP ERP. SAP ERP standardized processes across Ranbaxy and provided real-time information. Key processes like project planning, purchasing, manufacturing and invoicing were integrated on a single system. This overcame issues with the previous fragmented systems by increasing accuracy, availability of real-time data, and identifying inefficient processes. SAP divided large processes into smaller sub-processes for better management and decision making.
