2. Ministry Team: Children’s Formation

• Teacher assignments for each grade of Sunday School are set. We are still down one group for Gr.1 and 2.
• Room assignments-will preschool go to Mary’s new room or meet in front room? Teachers have complained that
front right room is too hot. Will Nina need to bring nursery into pre-K room if there are too many kids?
• Further discussed need for picnic pavilion and updated playground. Has Meghan heard from son regarding
plans? Bldg. and Grounds Committee has stated we need to have plans and estimated cost, but we’re not
sure how to do that without future plans for grounds. For example, we don’t want to have a contractor come
out and give us a quote for a certain area if there are future plans for that area that we don’t know about.

3. Ministry Team: Adult Formation
Members Present: Nancy Terry, Carl Terry, Stephanie Allen
Agenda Items Discussed:
• Summer - 9:30 class between the two services
Month of July: Discussion Group around current events in the Newspaper. Led by Matt Chytka and Carl
Terry. Attendance has been between 4-8.
Reflections on the Lectionary and service. Led by Nancy Reed and Nancy Terry. Attendance has been 1-3.
• Fall
We will offer classes at 9 and 10:15am
9/13/15-9/27/15 Dearly Beloved – Stephanie and others will offer 3 sessions on marriage from biblical,
theological perspective. This is a request of Bishop Curry prior to receiving requests for
LBGT couples to marry. He wants congregations to have conversations on the broader aspect of
marriage.
9/26/2015 Karen Ridout will lead a class on Ecological Spirituality based on the Pope’s letter . Jane
Vella and Carl Sigel will work with her.
Our second offering at 10 will be the Lectionary Reflections with Matt Chytka and Jon Showalter
facilitating those sessions.
10/4/15 – 10/11/15 – 10/18/15 Creation Care- Carl Sigel will offer a Session on Deeper Green Churches
and one on Recyling. Karen Ridout and Becky Christian will offer a class on CODEP – Reforestation in
Haiti on the last Sunday. This has been changed due to Carl Sigel not being available on those
Sundays. Instead we will offer three Sundays on the Job. Study of Book of Job, beginning with a
NOOMA film on Why bad things happen and then followed by two Sundays using the Thoughtful
Christian material on Job. The OT Lectionary for those Sundays is from Job.
Beginning 10/25/15 through 11/22/15 five classes will be offered on Bishop Curry’s book – Crazy
Christians. One of these may be the sermon that he preached on Crazy Christians.
Confirmation – 6 classes offered on Sunday afternoon for youth and adults. A beginning worship time together
and then separate into age groups. Stephanie will be asking Anne, David to assist her.
Nancy and Carl will be offering a group based on Prepare-Enrich’s Parenting Assessment in the fall. Will do a
pre- registration and see who is interested. Date to be determined by interested couples. It would be a 4- 6
weeks offering
Carl and Nancy -Mid-Life for Couples based on the workshop that Carl has done before but with a couple
emphasis.
Seminary – Beginning in 2016- Church’s Teaching Series – first on is People of the Way.
Next meeting – will meet in the evening to invite new team members. Looking at meeting once a quarter
