The Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS Ministry provides various services to empower and support adults and children affected by HIV/AIDS, including:
1) Angela's Place pantry which distributes household supplies and personal items to 60 households monthly.
2) A monthly Café which provides a meal, entertainment, education, and free clothing/goods to the HIV community.
3) A food pantry and bags distributed at the Café and during holidays containing at least 5 days of meals.
4) A child and family program including tutoring, outings, meals, and advocacy for children's needs.

iServe is a community ministry of The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, Missouri. Our members have committed to spend 10 percent or more of member contributions within our neighborhood. This presentation describes how we do that.
iServe is a community ministry of The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, Missouri. Our members have committed to spend 10 percent or more of member contributions within our neighborhood. This presentation describes how we do that.
Manuel Miandica of Kuwangisana shares the organization's community outreach initiative in rural Mozambique which works with religious leaders and communities to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and assist people living with HIV.
Each year, all of our campuses get involved in organizations, fundraisers, and other activities in our local communities. Supporting the community and helping those who live in the areas we do business is part of our organization’s culture.
Dundee Network Meeting - The Maxwell Centre presentation - every1's garden Alison Clyde
Alison Goodfellow & Danielle Kidd reported on their new project funded by a one-year grant from Young Start (BIG Lottery) to provide garden and outdoor activities for local school children and young people. Children from local primary schools and youth from local youth organisations will grow fruit and vegetables, learn about wildlife and cook healthy meals with the produce. A holiday garden club and intergenerational craft and garden activities with local sheltered housing residents will be delivered.

touched by HIV/AIDS.
3. Angela’s Place
• The pantry consists of
household supplies and
personal toiletry items like
laundry detergent, toilet paper,
deodorant and dish soap.
• Churches, civic groups and
individuals donate pantry
items to the Ministry; we buy
additional items as needed to
round out the donations
• We distribute pantry bags at
the monthly Café to 60
households
4. The Café
• The Café is the cornerstone of the
Ministry, and is held on the third
Saturday of the month for the HIV
community and their guests
• The Café includes a dinner,
entertainment, prizes, educational
opportunities, Angela’s Place
pantry and food bags, free tables
with gently used clothes and
household goods, and a children’s
program
• The event is an opportunity for the
HIV community to network and
relax in an accepting environment
5. Food Pantry
• The food pantry consists of food
donated by churches and
individuals, as well as food
purchased from the Second Harvest
Food Bank
• We distribute food bags at the
monthly Café, and consist of
canned/boxed, fresh and frozen
items equivalent to at least five
days of meals
• At Easter, Thanksgiving and
Christmas, we give boxes filled
with everything a family would
need for their holiday meal

• a monthly play support
group at the Cafe
• weekly tutoring sessions
for school-aged children
and periodic educational
programs and activities

and individual-child
social/recreational
outings, several per
month during the school
year

at Casa Madre, as well as
enrollment in a variety of outside
summer camp programs

assistance in situations
concerning housing, education,
social services, material needs
and physical health and well-
being, as the children’s needs
arise
8. Comprehensive Care Center
Current services include
• Adult & pediatric HIV health
care for 250 patients
• HIV counseling & testing for
walk-ins or by appointment
• Mental Health, case
management, and patient
education programs
• Preventive health care for
affected family members
• All services provided without
regard for ability to pay
